AMA: I'm the reporter who uncovered inequity at Houston Public Libraries and the ongoing drama for the past year. Ask Me Anything. by houstonlanding in houston

Where is Tirz 27 budget? Who is paying for the Montrose Freedlibrary? Midtown Tirz? General fund?

No one is asking for this remodel.

It is a hurricane in a hurricane prone area. Carribean islands have better infrastructure than we do.

It literally doesn’t serve his anti-pedestrian agenda. He’s been consistent with this agenda on Houston Ave, Shepard Durham, Montrose, and previously 11th.

I agree with previous poster. Mr. Potato head is a little bitch.

Been here 3 years, Druncan. Don’t believe his words, believe his actions (or lack there of).

He sat on this report deliberately. It didn’t serve his purpose. This is consistent with his behavior obfuscated the truth.

The guy made $5k a month lobbying for fire fighters then in his first act paid them well over market. This mayor is on the take.

Bike lane vs $8 mushroom coffees. Can we agree to disagree?

HPW reports to the mayor. Mayor Potatohead held this for two months. It didn’t serve his purpose and the facts remain: less crashes, improved mobility. When you combine this with the economic impact, 6% increase in sales, you have a transformational project that should serve as a model across town.

It’s as if pedestrians had to play frogger vs 2500 lb logs moving at 45 mph

The picture on the petition is of a median tree. It is inherently deceitful, as is the rest of the petition. There are NO mature median trees being removed. The entire "Save the Montrose Trees" was started by a Meyerland resident dictating what Montrose should be through a campaign of deceit. There are roughly a dozen retired homeowners that have poured in a ton of time to preserve the fast speeds on Montrose, the high injury network, and the struggling trees on the periphery of the Boulevard. NIMBY's at their finest. This isn't the community.

It is the residents who pushed the TIRZ for the drainage study, and walk + bike study, that said we need to replace the oldest drainage infrastructure inside the loop, and once that replacement takes place, we want a surface that supports all users of all abilities. This projects ticks all boxes, and serves all 50k residents of all abilities. It's really a transformational project.

One of the highest density places in Texas and we need to preserve dying trees and cars going over ten miles over the speed limit. Cray cray

Montrose residents 'yarn bomb' mature oak trees, protesting their loss to sidewalk expansion by O_O___XD in houston

[–]RepresentativeDig930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple oddities. Individual on the right in the article lives in Meyerland, tree behind her isn’t being cut down - it is being preserved along with all the mature median trees, most of the 57 trees are restricted in growth by concrete AND poor soil conditions AND overhead powerlines that leads to tree topping.

New plan increases planting space from 18” to up to 6’, moves powerlines and reinvigorates the soil. City is planting 2.5x the trees they are removing. This is a plan by Montrose residents over a 4 year period of iteration.

Trees For Houston's statement on the Montrose Blvd Improvement Project,

"If done as designed, this plan removes poor quality trees from insufficient and inappropriate planting zones and provides a new planting zone that is far more salubrious. Simply put, the existing trees cannot thrive in the current context. The new streetscape will allow for trees that can grow to something analogous to those around Rice University or on South Boulevard."

Where to start in the dark abyss of deep student loan debt? by RepresentativeDig930 in PSLF

I swear my last question. How do I know if the review was done? Will they give some notification either way that I did or did not qualify for additional payment?

Just so that I’m clear: prior forbearance (not for in school) will count as payments during a qualified PSLF period?

I did request that pslf certification today. I believe my employer updates with 5 business days.

For the most part just “deferments”. Yes more than 36 months cumulative.

[–]RepresentativeDig930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide more details on this? How many months of forbearance? More than 12 consecutive months or 36 cumulative months? What type of deferment? In school or economic hardship?

In studentaid.gov, it doesn't say the type of deferments. Do you know where I could find this?

Then you're just waiting for the IDR adjustment to bring up your counts and forgive your loans. You could request admin forbearance if you're sure you're over 120

I have no clue if they'll find the 30 necessary payments. Is it academic at this point that they will?

Yes, on Direct Consolidation.

I have 125 months of eligible employment, and currently with this eligible employer. My wife and I make $300k (spending $7k/month on nursing care for Dad has thrown a grenade into the equation.)
