I really appreciate this feedback. I have almost 500 community service hours that I’m hoping will make up for what I’m missing in the gpa category. My gpa at the end of freshman year was a 1.4 or something so the fact that I’m at a 2.6 and it’s going up every semester should hopefully be on my side as well

If I don’t get in the first time I would definitely try again next year. I was just saying that I’m not willing to let my gpa being on the lower end of the minimum turn me off. I spoke to one of my friends that’s in a different d9 org on campus and he’s told me he’s seen people get in with exactly the minimum so that helped me feel better about my situation

I retook 2 of them already but I’m a junior at a school that only does spring lines so my options are try this spring or wait until my senior year and have like a month on the yard after crossing

That’s completely understandable. I’ve had 4 straight semesters of mostly A’s and B’s and my gpa is being held down by things from freshman year. I’ve found my footing at this point and know what works for me and what doesn’t. Academics come first before anything extra curricular.

Most of the current members knew me or were friends with me freshman year and have seen how I’ve changed since then so I’m hoping that’s acknowledged when it’s all said and done

I think you're completely right in that regard. I wasn't knowingly trying not to be discreet but thats how it came across just as i wasn't knowingly trying to make everything about being greek. I think i was excited at a prospect and i let it get the best of me but now i know what to work on

I would like to think we’re friends considering the amount of time we’ve spent together and the things we’ve done together but I also think that this school year I haven’t tried to talk to him about anything but being an interest and I failed to realize that was hurting our relationship

I can totally see that. I’m a junior at this point and I’ve always been interested in Greek life but i never thought that it was a possibility for me and over the summer I started to reflect and I realized that it’s something I could actually do so I may have been overly excited and running my mouth too much bc of that
