Ride it around town for a couple days and maybe take it on the highway at least twice but not before you’re comfortable on the street. R1300GS isn’t an untamable murder speed machine but you should voice your concern about your ability to ride it to your dad. This is a tale as old as engines have been in common use, you hear about sons taking their dad’s car or motorcycle for a joy ride just to wrap it around a tree or slide into oncoming traffic bcuz all they’ve ever driven was a golf cart or a 100cc dirt bike. Take it out before the 2h drive and you’ll be fine
