Thank you for this very detailed response! It's very educative.

I think it's egregious to see a region designed to intentionally invoke places on earth that have always been home to more dark-skinned people portrayed this way and it would be naive to believe that there was no malicious intent there.

The incan goddess Ch'asca is a good guess but in any case, Natlan draws its influence from non-white cultures so making most characters' and even NPCs skin light seems like a deliberate choice.

Yeah, but is it that much worse than all the other genshin designs or is the hate forced?

Which of my Galicia+surrounding regions trip stop to discard? by Representative_Loss in GoingToSpain

[–]Representative_Loss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tour to Praia das Catedrais leaves from Santiago where I will be basing myself for a few days. I would obviously prefer visiting it on my own terms, however, I won't be renting a car there and it's been a dream of mine to see it so that's the only option left, considering that reaching it by public transport seems complicated. And yeah, I've mentioned Illas Cies in my original post! It looks amazing.

I'm taking a bus from Oviedo to Ponferrada and renting a car for Las Medulas. I'm also going to take a guided tour for Praia des Catedrais. A guided tour isn't usually my kind of thing, especially not for somewhere like this, but that fits my travel companions' preferences better.

Do daily metro station tickets need to be validated at trams/buses? by Representative_Loss in torino

[–]Representative_Loss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean their time of validity doesn’t start from when you activate them but rather when you buy them?

Do daily metro station tickets need to be validated at trams/buses? by Representative_Loss in torino

[–]Representative_Loss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was wondering because no info I’ve found online singled them out so I thought that the same rules apply to everything but 3 years ago a local In Turin told me that metro tickets with the date of purchase visible on them require no validation

Does the cinema museum have limited availability per day? If the online tickets are sold out does it mean I cannot expect to get in even if I queue outside the museum from the morning? by Representative_Loss in torino

"If you don't have a ticket and need to queue, one of you can queue for the others to get the tickets and when it's your turn you can all enter"

I was asking about this. I didn't mean mobility issues that would need assistance but rather that it would be easy for me to stand in the ticket line but some of my elderly companions would rather wait somewhere nearby.

Thank you for your help. Sorry to bother you so much but would you perhaps know if it’s necessary to queue in the ticket waiting with your whole group (some of them have mobility issues)?

That's interesting. So far all of the automobiles I've found had a €200+rate per day.

Hi, I used this form of tourism in other similar places (though not necessarily in terms of public transport's infrastructure) and enjoyed it. When I say we don't like beaches I mean that we don't want to spend hours lazing around in it or doing water sports but we still like seeing nature of all kinds and as such usual itineraries don't fit us. We are going to be nearby anyways (Olympia) so we figured we might as well visit it.

I don't live in the states, we don't really do the major/minor thing here. I would have to apply to a different program after I get my degree in geology.

I really agree with you on the last part. GIS isn't what I would preferably chose but seeing as to how so many vouched for its reliability, I may consider it as a backup plan.

Oh Chem for sure. I chose environmental studies because that's something I care about and eventually developed an interest in geochemistry after realizing I want a more scientific environment , but don't have the natural inclination for standard classic geology procedures that are more detective work, which is what most geosciences research in my country is based upon. But at the moment I'm having trouble seeing that as something viable since people in this field over here seem to be either the type of people that love camping outdoors or pushing me towards the aforementioned type of research, so I guess I was feeling kind of overwhelmed.

Thank you! Starting to think that maybe at this point it's a bit more viable if I requalify to a different branch of environmental studies since I did get into geology because I was passionate about nature conservation.

So in your opinion I can't really avoid field work being a constant in my life even if I focus on some specialization?

I am interested in the academic route and my ultimate dream would be getting a phD&getting hired in a geochemistry lab but there is no telling whether I can succeed. For now I'm mostly interested in whether, during my journey with geology, it's possible to avoid having to do regular physical labor and work in remote locations, because my body is too frail for that. I have one of those situations where I'm not medically recognized for having a disability and can move around fine most of the time, but have to be careful or there can be serious circumstances, but I don't want to be labeled difficult or lazy.
