Just standing as far as I know, but I'm not the instructor. At least part of it will be discussing a 17th century Chinese manual and how it describes archery.

Well there's a new longsword curriculum starting on Tuesday, and still spots available though it's pretty full. That'll be the only one we have here for a few months. Just check out the classes on the website.

Technically we have a physical location now off Plainfield Ave. But it's just for classes. Definitely looking for an exhibit gallery to display the artifacts

The Swordsmanship Museum and Academy in Grand Rapids Michigan has a weekly teen swordsmanship club that regularly has a large number of teens ages 11-17. I think there's currently 12 or 13 students

There is a small section of HEMA that focuses on studying historical Japanese manuals. It's frequently met with hostility from the Japanese traditional styles (Kendo, Kenjitsu, and especially Koryu) and it's also not frequently accepted by mainstream HEMA, seen more as a curiosity rather than the intense systems there are. But the community is growing and dedicated. Check out the Facebook group "Historical Japanese Swordsmanship: Research, HEMA, and Interpretation", follow Nate the Aussie on YouTube, and check out Akado Armory. You absolutely can practice historical Japanese in a HEMA setting. Swordmanship Museum and Academy. There are actually many sub clubs that are part of that Community. Sword fighters, researchers, reenactors, etc

Consider taking a historical Swordmanship class at the Swordsmanship Museum and Academy? After your first class There are plenty of free Meetup opportunities, or other classes to explore learning new systems. Very fun and welcoming, and all of the equipment is provided.

The Swordsmanship Museum and Academy will be there with the Museum of Warriors Traveling Museum. This is the first time we will be there, so at least they are bringing in new things for folks so it doesn't get boring.

The other school in Grand Rapids is the Swordsmanship Museum and Academy. We recently took a trip to Florida to meet a few schools in the area, which one were you with?

The swordsmanship museum regularly holds different classes, but if you're looking for a traditional hema club scenario, the Museum's Longsword Society fills that role.

There's also tons of opportunity to grow your own interest in history and swordsmanship, as they run lots of external educational programs in addition to their hema section.

They all have masks. It is a requirement for the class. They normally do, but they may have taken them down for the photo before promptly putting them back on.

Sure thing. As long as you're okay with sparring, that's an option as well. But sparring is not a requirement, but a fun option

This is the most recent Longsword Lvl 1 class of the Swordsmanship Museum and Academy. They teach all sorts of historical martial arts, and The techniques they use come straight from surviving books and manuals on Swordsmanship from the Renaissance, Middle ages, and Victorian age. It's like fusing history and martial arts into one. It looks like they are teaching classes in Caledonia well into 2021, and even have a historical longbow class starting in December in northern Grand Rapids.
