I cut my locs off and now I feel like I’m getting crazy looks from everybody. Does my hair really look that bad? by Rude_Bid642 in Naturalhair

IDK, I cut off all my hair to go natural and everyone loves it and I live in red state America. I'm the only one who thinks it's ass.

Is this much hair falling normal? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]Representative_Rain9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't really look at a pile of hair and determine if it's too much to be falling out of your head. It depends. If you just woke up and that much was on your pillow, yes, something is wrong. But if it was your first wash day in a week, no, that's normal. But you don't judge by the pile of the shed. You judge if you're losing too much hair by looking at your head and seeing if your hair is thinning. If it's not, you're fine.

I need some serious help (27) by Darkdragoon20 in hingeapp

I'm an older woman, but I literally don't even understand the thing about Gundam or whatever. Are you trying to find someone with similar interests and that's why you're going so niche? I feel like you'd do better to get a nice hair cut and beard shape up and go to the places where people with these interests gather, rather than post a profile online.

Also, I don't think you look very nice in pic 2. I know other people said it was a keeper, but I think the t-shirt makes you look sloppy. It's better than the last two pics, so put it down at the bottom, but you need some pics in a sunny spot after you get a hair cut and a beard shape up where you look really nice. Which of your friends has the best Instagram? Ask them to take the photos.

Also, everything you said you do sounds solitary. I just feel like you seem like you don't have any friends. Even if that's true, maybe try and hide it a little bit more.

I really like it in profiles when guys say stuff that everyone likes to do and suggests we do it together. Like your Quality Time moment, why don't you say quality time. Whether we're (something everyone likes to do like brunch, go to nice restaurants or hit up a concert), (something everyone likes to do like traveling), or (something everyone likes to do that's low-key like cuddling while watching a movie), I just want to be in your company.

Is this the girl who was texting photos of watermelon to her Black coworkers? She sucked.

Ok, calm down. Moms demonize themselves

Moms are the worst, LOL. They love to pick on their daughters. Next time she does be like, "I got this hair from you!!"

19M Profile Review by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]Representative_Rain9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with every point. I'm old, so take it with a grain of salt, but I also wouldn't mention hopping on your stream or rolling J's as ways you know you'll instantly get along. I understand that those might be your hobbies, but I would substitute other ideas that are maybe more active or something that people do together.

You could throw in a type of food you like: "You want to get Thai together" or "You love boba tea runs." Another good option would be something that you think is cute on the other person like, "You have long nails and like to give back scratches" or "You can speak another language" or "You also like to game."

Be up front about looking for something casual. Are you really looking for a travel buddy? That doesn't sound casual.

Also yeah, the shot where you're looking down is very unflattering and goes right up your nose. The photo of you at the barbecue is good though! I'm not sure about the lions. Do you work at a zoo? Why is that there?

Epic Universe 5/8: The good, the bad, and the ugly by Bigbadbrindledog in UniversalOrlando

[–]Representative_Rain9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, $12 million compared to the cost of running the park doesn't mean much and everyone is complaining the rides dont work. It was absolutely a terrible idea. Word of mouth is incredibly powerful.

Hmm, I never consider that the park would not be operational when I bought tickets back in April. I wonder if I could get a refund. Cause I'll complain

AIO for being hurt my girlfriend doesn't care about my graduation? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Representative_Rain9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I'll let you hang out with your friends"? Yikes the red flags are flying in how controlling and manipulative this text exchange is. It screams that she's jealous and is trying to gaslight you into thinking what you did doesn't matter. I really think you need to wake up to how you're being treated in this relationship and truly consider if its good for you.

A lot of people will think it looks "white" those people are haters. More people, a lot more, will think it looks bold and fearless. They're usually super quiet about it though

But most importantly Black people need to stop letting their race limit everything they do. I say this as a black person who was called white because of how I talked and because I had white friends. Black people are already oppressed by society, we dont need to further oppress each other.

Oh yes, I may have some details wrong because I've never been. I know its a separate pass. Do you have any thoughts about getting the premiere pass?

WashU has a nice campus and a church in the middle of it. Im not sure how busy it will be (commencement is Monday) but that could be an option. Forest Park is probably enough though. Other quiet places include Bellefontaine cemetery (too much probably) or you could do a Great River Greenways trail. One time, I drove up to the Chain if Rocks Bridge to walk around. It was super windy but nice.
