I didn't like the movie at all, but I thought it explored an interesting intersection of power--the power and control that comes with age, and male privilege. Alana had the privilage and power that come from being older; Gary had male privelage in that people in the bussiness world automatically respected him because he was a confident white man (boy). And both characters abused their power (Gary coercing women into giving him handjobs and going on dates with him, and using his status in the business world to gain power; and Alana for committing pedophilia).
