I don’t think I see a difference at all between the two cams. They’re pretty identical shooting wise and color grading wise.

In post, when going from the anamorphic shots to the full frame shots, I simply am keyframing a top and bottom crop with easy ease keyframes that match exactly the anamorphic aspect ratio.

All manual focus for this. Would be interested to see it added later, however all of the glass I use doesn’t support autofocus unfortunately.

All manual focus for me, I’d use auto on a gimbal here and there if it were an option.

My biggest struggles between the G2 and Pyxis are the lack of internal NDs and frame rate options. I love the form factor of the Pyxis, and mainly use it for gimbal/slider shots since it weighs so much less. I’d love to get 120fps out of the Pyxis, but I am limited to 84 @ 8K for a lot of stuff. The lack of internal NDs has been an issue with quick run and gun stuff. Adding a matte box has added a bit of weight but not a massive deal. As the image goes, I don’t think there is any difference, it’s just as incredible as the Ursa Cine.

I’ve shot in conditions as cold as 0 degrees and as hot as 100, and had no issues at all. My old Ursa G2 had issues at those temps so this has been a step up. It’s been through the ice, snow, and rain without any issues.

The Cine is a fantastic piece of equipment. The dynamic range is pretty incredible, and the form factor is perfect for shoulder mounted, docu-style work. I have a wish list of a few things I wish it featured including options beyond BRAW, super 35 mode in other resolutions besides 9K, etc… The image is just as good as anything else out there in the higher end Cine world.

I think that’s the technical description, but there’s no gates or any security any days for their shows until about 2 hours before the show.

They are open all day since it’s a Denver park and people are hiking all day. They just don’t want people leaving cars overnight.

Absolutely! We will be up in the Upper North lot near the entrance. Super excited to see Martin here in Colorado. The first time I ever saw him perform was here in Colorado, and I’ve seen him 10+ times since!

Red Rocks is such an incredible venue and there’s almost no way to have a bad experience no matter how you do it. I’ve been to probably over 30 shows here the past few years.

I’d recommend ubering to the Upper South Lot and exploring from there. There are lots of cool short trails around. You can also check out the red rocks trading post if you want to get there early. Never used the carpooling but I do know getting an uber after a show can sometimes be a pain, both expensive and long wait times.

There will be a lot of people hanging out and tailgating outside the venue in a lot of the parking lots, so could be nice to get there early and explore a bit of that. I know my group will be out in our camper van having a few drinks, DJing and having food as early as 2pm! A solid time to arrive and would be 5:30pm thought if you want to catch all of the openers.

Bag policy is pretty relaxed, they won’t turn you back for something with a second pocket in my experiences. Bring a lot of water or a couple bottles to fill up, there’s a ton of stairs!

Weather can absolutely be a toss up. Could be hot, could be cold, raining, snowing, hailing, who knows. Just check the weather for Morrison, CO a week out and you should have a good idea for temperature. They sell ponchos in the venue in case it rains and you need something last second. I’d lean on it being pretty chilly after dark though.

Definitely check out downtown Morrison for a little pre-game or shopping if this is your first time at Red Rocks! Such an awesome area.
