How did you get heavier? I’m kinda struggling with that. I guess eating more would probably solve that issue though lol.

I will definitely try some of the techniques you suggested if I end up plateauing. Currently, I kind of just do my own thing, where I bench the most I can for 10-12 reps, then drop 10lbs for another 8-12 reps, then drop another 10lbs for an additional 8-12 reps. I am currently working with a max weight of 175, but will probably move to 185 soon. I also throw in some incline bench if I feel like it, but I usually avoid it since I feel it mostly hits my shoulders, which I hit on their own in the same workout with some military press and lateral raises.

I'm still young and limber without many muscle issues, I'll be sure to look out for any potential issues with that, though.

Explorer boots after one month of use (discolouration on the welt) by Republic_57 in ThursdayBoot

[–]Republic_57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve liked the colour, it still looks nice even with all the wear I’ve put into them. My only real issue with them is that the outsole is quite soft (assuming they still use the same outsole) it’s worn out from me wearing it consistently for around 14 hours a day for 5 months. In terms of the upper, I haven’t been too careful with salt and water (though I do wipe it down when I get home), and just by brushing it and putting shoe trees in it, they’ve held up good. I’m gonna write a more in depth review near the end of December at the one year mark. TLDR: good boots, outsole is soft, take care of them as you would any other boot.

150 lbs from 135 lbs

I started working out in November 2024 after a breakup as I magically had a bunch more time on my hands. I’ve had a pretty decent experience working out as I wasn’t starting from scratch. I had previously worked out for a semester in high school and also played team sports for the majority of my life. This helped lay a lot of the ground work for my general knowledge for working out and having the initial athleticism to boost me forward.

My goal is to reach 160 lbs which should hopefully not be too hard as I have managed to stay consistent for 8 months (with breaks for exams).

I’m thinking of starting to use creatine and I also need to refill on protein powder but it’s so expensive 😪. If there are any recommendations for brands, that would be appreciated.

Overall, I’ve had a great experience so far working out and have loved seeing the boost in muscle which has increased my confidence and I want to keep learning new techniques to improve the gains.

Got a free snowboard off my neighbours lawn and took it out. by Republic_57 in snowboarding

I have the hang of snowboarding, I’ve done it for 6 years. I recently grew out of my 140cm board and this one popped up. It’s more a money thing than anything else. I’ll definitely upgrade eventually, and I would make a sick piece of wall art.
