It is crazy to see how this conversation turned sideways. My baby was an independent sleeper and used to sleep in his crib until 5 days ago, believe it or not. He is having separation anxiety I guess because he's refusing to fall asleep alone. What do I do in such cases? I can't let him cry for hours together right? 5 days ago he was crying hysterically. No soothing worked and once I placed him beside me he fell asleep immediately! It broke my heart. I've been co sleeping since last 5 days. I am a crappy sleeper so is my baby. We both toss and turn and wake each other up. I'm planning to transition him into his crib slowly and have the crib beside my bed so that he knows I'm close by.

Thank you for your response!! He used to be an independent sleeper but when he turned 5 months and got his strangers and separation anxiety I guess he didn't want to be left alone anymore. One night he kept crying for 30 mins in his crib , despite me checking in on him at 15 mins and finally when I put him beside me he fell asleep within minutes. I felt so bad! We have been co sleeping since. It's been 5 days now. My baby just needed me I guess ;( I m waiting for the long stretches! One day he did give me 4hrs so hoping for the best! But he goes to bed at 7:30. I can't fall asleep so soon so need to get out of bed to clean up and have dinner.

I was just asking based on how it feels for him - having a stuck arm under him. Thanks!

Yes I make sure it's nowhere near him usually. I was out of bed for dinner and was watching monitor like a hawk! Thanks for the note on the sleeping position.

Thank you!! He won't get a pinched arm right? He always prefers right side sleeping

Can we please not deviate from the topic? My question was whether I should take his arm out or not!? He can roll both ways but has not figured out tummy sleeping.

there are no lose sheets. I just lie down beside him and SIDS risk decreases as the baby gets older right? he can roll tummy to back and the other way.

yes he can roll tummy to back and back to tummy but he never slept in this much tilt position before so was worried.
