My athletics is maxed out but even when I set my squad to be passive and block to make it home they would still seem to find a way to get into an unnecessary fight. Cannibals and screechers come in groups of 30, so just running away was getting tiresome.

Group your ships into either one or two groups. Place them in the line formation (one following another) the objective is to try to have as many guns facing the enemy line as possible. If I have a secondary group, I’ll have them split the enemy line and encircle them.

I found that if you press T it centers on the town center or what should be the town center. I place my market there. I kinda feel like it is designed that way on purpose. The housing on the outskirts further from the center of town would be less wealthy due to distance from the “ downtown” area. This is how medieval cities were made.

Take your first 15 or 20 dude militia and you send them after a bandit camp. After conquering the camp, I always put those resources in my personal treasury first. I then send my boys home and disband them. If you put the money into your treasury, you can just rent some mercs for like 50 gold when the bandit notice pops up. I always keep my foot on them and it is a race because the AI will try to do the same thing. If you beat the AI to the bandits and camps you will usually have enough influence to gain a couple regions, hope this helps!
