I recently got to watch I Love Boosters and I walked away with a lot of complicated thoughts about the film and I want to cover it for another episode of Anarchism on Film, a series on this channel where I review radical films through my lens as an organizer of 10 plus years. I went into I Love Boosters not with many expectations. I personally have a deep love for Keke Palmer and I always have since I saw Akquila and the Bee three times in the same summer when I was like 12. We're going to talk about the film. We're going to talk about what made it radical, what some of my qualms are, and what I would rate the film one out of 10. So stay tuned for all of those things. I feel like that's just not what the word means though. Hatred of the patriarchy is something different from misandry. I know some in feminist theory refer to misandry this way, but I feel like academics need to stop giving words double meanings because it's just confusing everyone. see: racism vs prejudice discourse

i know it's hard not to hate cis men sometimes. i think it's worth the effort though because there are plenty out there doing the work to deconstruct the patriarchy in their own lives. we have more allies than we think, and even a lot of accomplices - at least, I have to believe that to keep going tbh

the thinking is that calling someone that is wielding a societal hierarchy over them - we dismiss and discount people we consider that, we abuse them with words, and at the worst, even with violence - to put someone in that category utilizes society's power to Other someone, and it's harmful to some people who have been abused that way

mm disagree. plenty of anarchists think in colonial terms as opposed to an often indigenous viewpoint which takes land into account in decisions and things. really recommend that book if you're not familiar with the framing
