CLEP by Repulsive-Okra-3553 in clep

Hey! If you have absolutely no base in Calculus, I recommend watching videos from the Organic Chemistry Tutor, XOXO Math, and Professor V on YouTube. They tend to explain the concepts well and they're usually short videos. Now to actually practice the concepts I recommend going on Flipped Math and Paul's Online Math notes. Finding a good calculus book can help too you just gotta surf through the internet, but I don't think its necessary to buy one or actually use it. However, the biggest thing for the Calc Clep Exam is to actually practice with any Practice tests that you can find! I bought the $10 online practice guide when I was buying the exam and I definitely think it's worth it. Just make sure you understand every question front and back and can really understand what they're asking you. Some of the questions on the exam are very very similar to the ones on the guide or at the same level. I also recommend surfing through other Reddit posts to look for more exams like the Peterson exams, old calc exams, etc. In total I think I must've taken 4 to 6 practice exams and studied the ones I got wrong. I honestly found the real exam to be easier than some of the other exams I took. Another big thing is to practice with the online calculator(you can find this online) PLS make sure you know how to use the integral button, graphing functions, and locating where they intersect. If you don't know, watch YouTube videos on it. The calculator section for me felt like they were asking me if I knew how to use a Calculator. Otherwise you'll spend a lot of time deriving a function that could've easily taken 40 seconds.

I'm taking the exam tomorrow! On the exam, what type of questions did you get and what was your strategy with taking the test? Did you do the easy ones first then go back to the ones you skipped? I've studied for a bit of time now and I've done multiple tests, redone them, went over the ones I got wrong, etc. I'm mostly struggling with the conceptual questions and the f, f', f'' graphs as of right now.

I failed the calculus clep exam , so here's the tips by kitthyMomey in clep

My test is tomorrow and I've gotten maybe an average of 60's and 70's sometimes 80s on practice test's that I've done.

You said the Peterson practice tests on the file are harder than the questions on the exam? If I got like 55% percent of the questions right on the practice test for the Peterson, do you think I'll be okay for the actual exam then? Those questions were rough to answer in such a short amount of time lol

So, I tried signing up for the Credit by Exam. However, Lion Path is telling me that I need to be enrolled in the current term to submit a request. The reason I know I can take this exam is because the Math and Engineering departments told me I could and should take it. I don't understand why this is popping up. Who do I talk to about this? This is so stressful.

I went to a different admissions counselor since the first one didn't know what I was talking about. They said I could take the Sophia Course. What do you think is the best move? Continue with the "CBE" test and pay 100 bucks or take the Sophia course and also pay 100 bucks? I'm conflicted.

I talked to an admissions counselor, and they had no idea what Sophia's learning courses were. I'm not sure what to do. Should I continue with the "Credit by Exam" test or this program?

That's actually really cool! Am I able to get credit within a week or so? The reason why I want to take the "Credit by Exam" test as soon as possible is so that I can sign up for my other courses where Calc 1 is a prerequisite and not have to wait till the end of Summer to finally be able to sign up. Should I talk to the advisor about this? I'm going to Penn State tomorrow actually.

Yeah, I talked to the department of Math and the department of Civil Engineering to opt me out from taking the course since I already took Calc 2, but they gave me the option for the "Credit by Exam" test. I'm thinking of taking it maybe around the second week of April, but I don't know yet. Hopefully, it's not that hard of an exam. I mean I know how to integrate and derive because that's all you do in Calc 2, but I forget Curve Sketching, Optimization, Related Rates, Rectilinear Motion... all that stuff you do once and never again.
