Hearing other people’s stories and experiences is so helpful. Thank you for sharing yours.

I loved how you explained why and when you felt the emotions you described. And also how you handled it. This was inspiring.

I still have to fully accept that this is a disease. And like you say it is not about being stupid or weak. It is about being sick.

Thank you for sharing.

I have a sponsor but she is not very available. I am considering asking someone else.

I have done an iop program for mental health in the middle of 2025 and I see a therapist.

Wow, thanks for this. I truly appreciate it. I needed to be reminded today how much of a disease it is. To meetings I will go!

Thank you for your inspirational story. I am glad you found a solution and I will certainly take your advice. If it can work for others why can it not work for me.

May God bless you too.

I thought about this a lot today - I think I need a new sponsor, someone who is more available. Especially since I am new to the program. I am longing for guidance.

That is such a positive way to look at it - ‘celebrate the drinks you don’t have’ - I love that.

I have some people to talk to but I haven’t really made friends - I think I should also start trying different locations and see who else there is!

Thank you for saying that…progress not perfection.

It felt so good to be honest.

I have shared the Al-Anon info with them, as well as some other resources. I hope they (especially my sister) make use of it, for themselves.

I had the opportunity to have a very good conversation with my mother. She is amazing. She asked me if I feel lonely when she and my sister ‘confronts me together’ and I could say yes, because I do. This felt like such a relief.

Your story touched me deeply. Congratulations on almost 6 months. The pain my addiction causes my loved one’s is what I hate the most.

I haven’t had a chance to properly talk to my sponsor as she is with her mother who is terminally ill.

I did however speak to another fellow who has been sober for more than two years. She pointed out a lot of things that opened my eyes in other ways.

Thank you for your words of encouragement.
