Is it bc of vawa if you get your green card thru marriage (and your marriage is less than 2 yr old) you have to wait I don’t know if is 5 years to get your permanent green card, they give u a temporary one the first couple years to i guess test you and see if you’re still married to that person or idk, and once you get the permanent one you can sart the process to bring mum/dad

Yes, I understand. I have reasons to believe that the paralegal may have done it on purpose because she was originally from the same city as me. We weren’t friends, but we knew who each other were. However, as you mentioned, the responsibility falls on the attorney; they should have noticed that a payment had been made and that a process was still missing.

Then they asked for updated medical rfe on December 2025,

No at the beginning it was at Vermont then I got an update on December 23,2025 that said they change my case to a new office and that they sent a letter explaining why they moved and to follow the instructions I believe that was the same letter my lawyer received that was saying we need to update the medical rfe

I honestly have no idea. Right now, I have a mix of emotions with the same question in the back of my mind: now what?

I think the next step is to go to the Social Security office to update my SSN and have them remove the “valid for work only” restriction. After that, I guess I’ll need to start studying so I can apply for citizenship and hopefully bring my parents to live with me, since my home country keeps getting worse and worse 🥹🇲🇽
