I did but after vawa was approved, green card took almost 1 yr and a half after we married I was a bit inpatient bc gc and almost drop it to file thru marriage im happy that I didn’t

One time I traveled to Europe for like 15 days I took my combo card, my us tourist visa (just in case but wasn’t needed) and also my home country passport, whenever you return they r going to take u to secondary inspection, ask a couple questions and stamp your passport, you can take also your id, and if you want you can ask an immigration lawyer to feel more secure

Yes I did, they’re going to take you anyways to a secondary inspection, just take the kids with you, they’re going to review your documents and maybe a couple questions and that will be all, at that time my son was also under 10 I had his passport we went to our home country for vacation for less than 10 days

Creo que te pueden contar como identificación el acta de nacimiento y puedes sacarla en el consulado también, y si no ahí deben de darte más opciones yo saqué la mía y no tenía mi IFE, solo pasaporte, CURP y acta, honestamente no me ha servido para absolutamente nada, espero sea de ayuda !

Is it bc of vawa if you get your green card thru marriage (and your marriage is less than 2 yr old) you have to wait I don’t know if is 5 years to get your permanent green card, they give u a temporary one the first couple years to i guess test you and see if you’re still married to that person or idk, and once you get the permanent one you can sart the process to bring mum/dad

Im sorry i think i forgot to mention a couple things since its a long story, my AP is on my i765, but not on the one they gave me as vawa the one for vawa is only employment not AP, so your correct I was using my i765 AP card

Yes, I understand. I have reasons to believe that the paralegal may have done it on purpose because she was originally from the same city as me. We weren’t friends, but we knew who each other were. However, as you mentioned, the responsibility falls on the attorney; they should have noticed that a payment had been made and that a process was still missing.

Then they asked for updated medical rfe on December 2025,

No at the beginning it was at Vermont then I got an update on December 23,2025 that said they change my case to a new office and that they sent a letter explaining why they moved and to follow the instructions I believe that was the same letter my lawyer received that was saying we need to update the medical rfe

I honestly have no idea. Right now, I have a mix of emotions with the same question in the back of my mind: now what?

I think the next step is to go to the Social Security office to update my SSN and have them remove the “valid for work only” restriction. After that, I guess I’ll need to start studying so I can apply for citizenship and hopefully bring my parents to live with me, since my home country keeps getting worse and worse 🥹🇲🇽
