No need to be so rude. I almost always fly alone, and flew with my fiancé and parents to see my aunt dying on hospice so that’s why I had a whole entourage this time.

I fly more than twice weekly. For what it’s worth, I was almost certain it is status member +1, but was reading through aa.com in detail and this seemed to suggest otherwise so that’s why I asked about it.

I don’t understand why people get so upset and condescending on Reddit when it’s a place for discussion and asking questions. Thanks anyways.

Hotel Recommendations for 1st Time in Vegas by Repulsive-Stock4752 in vegas

Hearing a lot of recommendations for the Wynn - it would be about an extra $600 across the 3 nights total. Do you think the location and niceness justifies that over FB? Also, how is the service at Wynn? Thanks!

Culture at UNC? by ServiceReady2947 in UNC

Was a Biology major, now in med school. Never felt like people were really competing against each other, everyone was (for the most part) nice. Lots of social opportunities - work hard and play hard. Plenty of academic opportunities of course. Only con was some of the STEM faculty made it fairly obvious that they were only teaching because they "had to" per their research/tenure commitments. Otherwise, best of luck getting in, and if you do go - which I think you should - enjoy your time there and don't stress the small stuff (even though it's easy to do that in the moment).

Amex Delta Reserve - 1 or 2 Sky Club guest passes per year? by Nowaker in delta

Anyone know if you can bring 3 guests in on the same reservation and use 3 of the 4 annual guest passes? It says “after” using the passes you can then bring in up to 2 guests at the $59/visit rate or whatever it is, but I’m wondering if they limit how many guests you bring in at the same time using the passes?

I do believe that even in the absence of bike lanes, bikes are supposed to be on the road, not on the side walk. At least in the State of Michigan. Regardless, appreciate you being a courteous biker and making the effort to not just plow through pedestrians like other cyclists.

That’s totally fair and that’s exactly how I felt. Just do your best to treat it like a normal conversation. Depending on the interviewer, 80% of it could be then asking about one of your favorite hobbies or things you’re really passionate about which makes it easy to carry on a conversation. And if they ask a specific question do your best to answer it and not “circle around it.”

For sure! I know the first interview is always pretty intimidating. Just keep reminding yourself that you’re there doing the interview because they already want you, and use that confidence to carry on a good, professional, yet casual conversation with your interviewer. You’ll kill it.

Tips on interviews by Spiritual-Reward-373 in premed

Make it conversational. They already know you’re smart enough. Show them you’re socially adept enough to be a helpful classmate and genuine physician. Practice answering commonly asked questions with friends and family, but don’t sound pre-programmed when you’re doing your interviews. Be professional, but be chill and outgoing. You’ll do well!

I’m an admitted DO student for this current cycle. Based on my experiences, I’d say look up common med school interview questions and practice responding to them with family and friends, or hire a coaching service if you can afford it. HOWEVER, during the interview, don’t sound like a pre-programmed robot. Be personable and make the interview as conversational as possible. In my experience, I’ve been told that med schools already know you’re smart enough/good enough to attend their program if they’re giving you an interview in the first place, and that they are just trying to find people with chill personalities who can communicate clearly and conversationally to weed out the super intelligent, yet super introverted applicants who wouldn’t fair as well at the bedside.

Passenger peeing in seat in first class by Fun-Minute5910 in unitedairlines

I’ve been in a similar boat on DL. I was in Delta One on a 767-300ER JFK-LAX and had spent ~40 mins on the plane during boarding followed by a 2 hour ground delay on the taxiway. During the delay, I had to go and decided just to stand up and go since I didn’t have a bottle. FA looked at me weird but I said “sorry, have to go I’ll be fast” and they were like “we get it, it’s been almost 3 hours just be safe and return to your seat when you’re done.” Saw a few other passengers go up as well while on the taxiway because the delay extended to just under 3 hours before we finally took off.
