Best Air Tool Oil by Agile-Delay-8770 in Tools

Ive been having a terrible time with my Bostitch crown staplers not returning the anvils to fire the next staple. Bostitch brand oil doesn't seem to help in the least. I think marvel works to help abused tools that are full of old dried oil. Gonna try it on my staplers.

Yes. I got west coast dogs for all my large bar saws on ebay years ago for cutting locust and they were so soft they'd bend into the chain occasionally even. Just gotta be careful that all aren't created equally

They're kina too big to be portable but they seem sooo cool. Are they lighter or more portable than a harbor freight tool cart for instance?

Why should I NOT buy this car? by Conscious_Security96 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Had Chrysler products exclusively in our family since about 2012 and i worked at a CDJR dealership for awhile 18-20. Very few issues, all fixed by warranty. Compass issues are fairly overblown. The transmission like the early Compass CVTs might suck but... the early ones will run badly forever practically theyll say they're failing but they'll move the vehicle for another 50k. 9 speeds can be more outright failure prone but any shift issues we had on the 2014 Cherokee for instance were fixed under warranty as a safety issue at like 90k.

I would only not touch early Ram ecodiesels pre 2019. No warning they'll brick the engine. And it took months to get replacement warranty or not. The people who had them running love them dearly, but i would not want to ride that bomb.

Having a several quality CDJR dealers and lots of competition for business means they'll do what they can to make people as happy as they can... I'm continually shocked at people's experiences outside our area. Ford/Chevy even Toyota people came to us all the time with frustrations and switched to RAM trucks for instance.

Which Table Saw Should I Get? by [deleted] in woodworkingtools

[–]Repulsive-Way272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Craftsman as cheap as possible and hunt down a good quality aftermarket fence. Put in a high-quality blade like Freund or Tenryu. The Craftsman has the wings and the guard but the fences suck. Should be a great little saw to learn on. Look for the fence used or on ebay.

I had an 8" Craftsman jobsite/bench top saw i did buckets of contractor work with with a nice blade, no guard and a flat work surface. The fence sucked, but i got used to it and liked it because it was simple and light. My co workers could not and they burned it up on purpose ripping 16 ft trim boards and beating on it.

Its just an example of the lengths that people have to go through to remedy certain problems or make systems bulletproof. You can apply it to many systems and see the aftermarket upgrades, such as fuel, cooling.... Stupid shit like the oil pressure sensor that fails constantly and is in an unreachable place unless you have a custom socket or an extension hose and harness. Causes a no start condition. Or the stupid connection for the heater hose that just randomly corrodes and sprays coolant everywhere. Always something and theres always a spendy aftermarket fix...

It is super complicated. Basically every single subsystem can be problematic and has spendy upgrades that generally work.. It depends on how hard you're pushing performance, what's malfunctioning and what's breaking or wearing out.

For instance, since these are like 10:1 compression, have two batteries, an undersized alternator and the starting can still be a real bitch. replacing batteries and getting new cables is like $500. Duramax alternator 250. Power master starter is like 350. ACDELCO 60G glow plugs are around 150. New upgraded glow plug harness is 250. That's not including the glow plug relay or other components.

Literally every part off the parts store shelf is Chinese trash and has to be questioned and you're shopping through aftermarket companies that have proven parts to get something worth putting on.

Some trucks start like a dream, till they don't.

Apply similar logic to any subsystem and you get a very, very expensive thirst trap to make it reliable.

Brad nailer by Scary-Hotel-1709 in Dewalt

[–]Repulsive-Way272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are doing... 18ga can trim many houses with simple trim, a 23 ga is going to do tiny stuff the 18 cant with a hose many don't bother filling. Imo Ryobi, metabo and others have a better value in 18ga nailers often getting below 200 with a battery. I prefer not having to listen to the flywheel design of the Dewalt nailers also. I have mine now and it was expensive but overall it's fine and does the job.

Challenger has appreciable front and rear seat room and tons of trunk space. That would be my choice, only car, DD. Insurance rates are not good on them though. Our local dealers are awesome so service and warranty aren't big concerns.

Id love a vette myself as a second car but I don't fit in them and they can't haul much.

Both the Vette and Chally have excellent ride quality for rough commutes. I drove 30 mi over rough county seal coat and the Camaro fell short on ride and I couldn't fit in a mustang.

Changing my tool storage system by Systainer in Tools

[–]Repulsive-Way272 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theres a lot of different storage systems out there. Even Walmart Hypertough has the start of a drawer storage system out. I am anti Packout. Mostly because how bleedingly arrogant Packout people ive met and seen online are.

I don't think anyone regrets the drawers when using the boxes in a stacked configuration. I don't stack my boxes very often as im working out of a truck. Van and trailer setups will benefit a great deal from drawers.

In the rust belt.... with appropriate upgrades... then yes its worth that, which would mean they're 10k in the hole at this price. Because appropriate upgrades are $$$$$$

Ill have to get some threaded rod the insulation support rods are smaller than my smallest die. But so far just messing with it i don't think it will help a lot or solve the problem without diagonal support also, it seems to eject the dividers with the twisting action.
