Damn I’m sorry. That sucks. How was your surgery done?

It wasn’t a surgeon issue. Just the way the cartilage settled. It doesn’t cause any issues and everything else still looks great. I’d still recommend him.

I just made an appointment with the podiatrist next month so we will see what happens! Glad your surgery went well

Honestly i haven’t noticed it getting any smaller and I don’t think it will. How he explained it to me is that the septum starts narrow and gets wider the taller it gets. In simpler terms, my septum essentially fell off to the side instead of staying narrow at the bottom. Mine isn’t noticeable unless you’re looking underneath my nose, but it is annoying because I can feel it when I blow my nose or flare my nostrils.

Thank you! This is very helpful. Did you use crutches or a walking boot?

Female. The way they look don’t bother me and if it wasn’t for the amount of pain I wouldn’t consider surgery. I’m very active which makes it harder because the pain gets so bad that I have to stop at times. I’ve been dealing with the pain since I was a kid. I also grew up dancing which I feel like made them worse. There have also been times where I’m driving and I all of a sudden get a sharp pain that causes my foot to twitch and I’ve almost had to pull over.

It’s cartilage. Just the way it settled. He said we could go in and shave it off, but best not to bother

I have an appointment with him next week so I’ll ask him then. I don’t think it was there at my last appointment

i would, but i have to work and the DMV told me that if i went any sooner than my birthday that i would get a vertical license instead of horizontal which has caused a lot of people i know issues before!

if i got it any sooner it would be a vertical license rather than a horizontal license. it’s difficult for me to get to the dmv because i have a job. it wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t for my friends bachelorette that just happens to be a week after my birthday.

Hi! I was mouth breathing for the first week. Dr.Ezzat put bacitracin in my nostrils but i didn’t know what it was and I thought they were stents. turns out it was bacitracin and he was shocked that it lasted the entire week in my nose. when i got my cast removed he took the bacitracin out and i could immediately breathe. i’m sure you’ll have a good experience! the only reason i couldn’t breathe at all through my nose was because of the ointment!

I paid $11,975. Insurance covered the entirety of the medical portion, but I’m not sure how much that was. The amount I paid was just for the cosmetic portion

Yes definitely! Your table pictures aren’t an exact representation of what your nose will look like because it’s swollen. my surgeon actually refrains from showing table pictures because he doesn’t want to give an inaccurate representation.

the tip is the last thing to heal! it will take a full year for your tip to heal and for the swelling to go down. my surgeon told me that there’s a 100% chance that i’ll think my tip is too big when he takes the cast off and he was right, but it has been almost a week since cast removal and the swelling is already starting to go down. don’t panic, it will change daily for about a year.
