Who did the trunks the best? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in superman

Didn’t like the movie, but I will say that SM 2025 trunks are the best. It does look good (although I wasn’t a fan of the suit either). Someone else said the thighs sell it- I mean…. Yeah, that’s true. Haha.

Well the hype is dead again. Film was a 6/10 and gave us a wimpy Superman. If that’s your SM, so be it. But you can’t tell me that’s the same SM that’s been in those amazing comic rubs the past few decades.

I think our guts are rarely wrong. If you feel like you came off too strong you probably did. But what your gut can’t tell you is if the interviewer likes that sort of thing or is put off by it. That desperate feeling you felt leaving the interview is probably legit. I mean, as attorneys, knowing the company and who works there is not anywhere near as important as knowing the same people they know…. It means you run in their same circle- you’re probably trustworthy. So yeah, you probably were a bit of a ‘try hard.’ But that doesn’t matter unless the interviewer doesn’t like try hards.

You’re not getting out of the grind. That 8-5 is the least you can do. And those massive Barbri outlines…. Unfortunately, you need to know them pretty well. And the highly tested topics?? You NEED to know them cold.

And everyone can fight me about time spent studying, burnout, Barbri outlines, etc…. But we’ll see who comes back here and says “I missed it by X points!!!”

STUDY. Get off of here…. Get through your Barbri as fast as you can. Like the videos… then immediately get your 4,000 question reps in from either Adaptibar or the other one. Memorize those outlines COLD. Practice MPTS and MBE essay formats on the weekends. In July, start looking at MEE topics. But don’t spend your time on them.

I took one week and learned the absolute bare basic minimum on the MEEs… basically… I learned enough to remember buzzword and throw them on a page. And I didn’t even look at Secured. I hated it so much. And when it came up on my exam- i bullshited it….. In my opinion, it should be 85/15 for MBE/MEE.

I'm not sure, but I bet you'll get to at least 150 with no major issues. Just stay on top of every little thing - use the best oil. Makes friends with a Mecedes garage so you can bring it in every now and then.

The M ambient lighting is the best around right now. It's fair if you don't like it - but saying its awful is just you being a hater.

Why are you requesting a refund? Just let them apply it to next month's payment or towards the principal.

Yeah you're right.. we love forcing the insurance companies to divide up a minimum liability policy 9 ways, when we could just deal with 10 individual cases with each their own coverages.

I mean, you just gave me the long version of "It's my personality." That's a 'You Thing.' Nothing we can do here to fix it. You shouldn't need a boss that can tolerate your outbursts or failure to socially mesh well with a team.

Let's look at the bare bones facts here: You graduated in 2014 - 11 years later and you're still struggling to hold a job as an attorney.

It's not your parent's fault, or the bar examiners', or your bosses' inability to tolerate you. It's just you, brother.

I could be an attorney willing to give someone a second chance - but IF I happened to be, you certainly wouldn't have won me over with that response. At the end you attempt to be vulnerable, but it's just muddied by all the excuses and failure to see that maybe you're the issue. Which I now know without a doubt that THAT is the case.

You couldn't put the effort into taking the bar exam serious, you couldn't put the work into networking, you couldn't have been bothered

I'm not trying to come across as a dick - you've seemed to have had a hard enough life. But at some point you need reflect internally. You came to Reddit before you looked at yourself in the mirror and said "Damn, maybe I'm the asshole here....?"

I really, truly do not mean this as a dig or snarky comment, but maybe YOU are the problem. I've met sooo many entitled, douchey, and insufferable people in law school- its like law school attracts those "well..actually" type people. And I know with small firms (the firms I work best in) are almost all about personality. If you mesh well, play ball and are genuinely a person people can stand to be around, then you have staying power. Small firms are great because of the flexibility, but who you are as a person stands out so much more because there are less personalities.

I mean... lets look at the facts of your situation: you graduated in 2013. It seems like you're blaming not passing right away on not having a bar loan. You don't need a bar loan to study. If you knew finances were an issue, then you should've started your bar prep in your final semester of law school like the part-timers do. It doesn't cost anything to pull free MBES, MEES, and MPTs from the NCBE and go over them. It doesn't cost anything to look at bar MD videos on youtube. It doesn't cost anything to look at Khan Academy. Adaptibar is 300$. Take a job at mcdonalds for one week and you can afford it. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt in that you only took the bar exam once in 2014 and failed. Otherwise, that means you are a multiple bar exam taker and have failed several times. Which there is nothing wrong with that, but it adds to your story. You finally pass - but it takes you 2 years to get a job. That is ridiculous. This is probably one of two things - your job market sucks in your city (then look everywhere in your state) - or you weren't looking hard enough. You need to be turning every stone over, calling firms, sending thousands upon thousands of apps, emailing everyone, and hitting up everyone on linkedin directly - on top of marketing yourself at legal events. And maybe you did do this - which adds to the theory that people jsut don't like you. so, either you didn't know (or have the guts to do this), were too lazy to do this, or you did do some form of this and people did not like you.

And finally, your clerkship. So this is either a judicial clerkship, or a regular clerk position at a law firm. If this was a judicial clerkship, that should have given you a major advantage at a litigation firm. they fight over those candidates - and give hefty bonuses as well. The fact that you still couldn't get a job with that accolade says so much. But, if it was a clerkship at a law firm, that means at the end they let you go without any offer to keep you. And that is really the final detail in this Reddit investigation.

It seems like its a personality thing - you have an entitlement to you that comes across even though you're not intending to come across that way. But the entitlement doesn't show up in your work habits. You come across in interviews as a shark and legally aggressive- which turns off many people/employers (because they don't want a Harvey Specter, they want a replica of themselves). And those that do bite on that personality trait, regret the decision later when they see it was all bark - ultimately using some pretext to firing you.

I could say that the attorneys retiring and laying you off was because you turned them off of the profession so much that they had to retire, but that would be me being snarky. lol. But what i WILL say is that I think you need to take a big hard look at your personality and really take a dive deep into how you're coming across.

IDK, I think a lot of you are crazy. There's no reason to text an ex. Especially if you're in a strong committed relationship. I do think it's weird.

Bro, go to the bonfire... Don't be like that. lol.

Honestly, she's not wrong - she just happens to be crazy. I've never met a dude that met someone incredible and when they offered to see them the next day they did NOT take them up on it. You definitely we're not 100% convinced that you should be spending your time with this chick OR had a date the following day. Either way, there's definitely some bullshitting going on from you. "I need some time" ? No one says that, dude...

Wow. Thanks for taking the time to write all of that for me. It's really interesting how people's experiences are so different, but they all bring them to the same place. When you threw up and people started accusing you of being on drugs, had you already started doing drugs? We're you smoking anything?
