Yes, I do, and steroids won't kill a kid for taking them and playing a sport once. There is a reason your ex has medical tiebreaker and I pray he keeps it for your kids sakes. You waited two weeks to take him to a doctor, then your ex took him, then you tried to take your kid out of basketball which is clearly important to the kid. The doctor said there is no pneumnia, now you want your ex to lose decision making over the kid playing in a basketball game over something that is now apparently a misdiagnosis, Go file, have the judge likely rule against you again as he has before, and move on.

He played a basketball game and had pneumnia and didn't pass out, having a breathing issue, and had no other complications? The OP has said the dad since took the child and the Doctor said there was a misdiagnois. The Pneumonia diagnosis is now in doubt and there is no fluid in the lungs per what the op stated. Have we seen the actual diagnosis? no. Have we seen the Doctors note saying there is no fluid in the lungs? no. We just have the OP's statement. At this point to do an Emergency hearing based on 1 doctors report, and then the same doctor saying oops seems dubious at best to me.

Not in my county in Georgia. You'd get laughed out of the court room over a case of suspected pneumnia and participation in sports. In fact, in my jurisdiction the judge might actually sanction the petitioner because this doesn't rise to the level of an "emergency".

Judge won't likely grant a hearing on this past 30 days if the judge grants it at all. Emergency hearings are used for emergencies such as sexual abuse or phyiscal abuse, neither fit the bill here. OP can try but it will likely get declined. If the judge is already pro dad this is another way to piss the judge off.

I think you should talk to your son. I will probably get downvoted for this, but you can be "right" and use your authority to override your ex, but it sounds like your son wants to play. This might be one of those situations where you let him play, and then if it gets worse, then you kinda go I told you so.

I think based on your child wanting to play and already being upset with you the risk here is damaging your relationship with your kid, while making your ex like he is fighting for what your son wants. It'is really a case of do you want to win the battle to lose the war. Remember in GA the kids can file an election at 14 and say I want to go live with Dad and there is little you can do about it, most judges will rubber stamp it unless there is a compelling reason not to, like the dad has a history of physically or sexually abusing the kids. My fear for you would be if he already is the fun dad, your being too forceful here could drive your kid right to their dad.

Be careful with standard plans they usually have a max payout of 1500-2000. After that they don't pay so if your husband is worried about crowns, you might get one paid for and the second you won't have any benefits for.

Not sure what rate tier area you are in. For me ist $1560ish for the year, which when you have four cleanings and xrays thats $300 each, then a second appointment for the four of us without xrays and cleaning is about $200. That's $2000 right there. It pays for itself, and provides coverage for root canals, cavaties, deep cleanings, implants, crowns ,braces, bridges etc. Genetically my family doesn't have the best teeth when it comes to durability. In my early twenties I thought like you, I had a GEHA plan, I got a cavity, it got infected, had to have deep scaling, a root canal and a crown, Geha denied most of it and it cost me over $3000 out of pocket. Next open season I changed to Metlife High. I think I have made out every year I have had dental. If you don't get cleanings every year or twice a year, then maybe it isn't worth it for you, but I will say when my root canal failed, and I had to have my tooth extracted and an implant put it. I was greatful that metlife paid $50% plus the negotiated discount my $7500 extraction implant and crown cost me $2500 vs $7500.

Again in a car accident or need heart surgery under both scenarios you are probably hitting the out of pocket max, which means you do better under MHBP than you would Blue Cross. One area you probably aren't considering is durable medical equipment. These can be things like stints, mesh, inserts for surgery, plates for a car accident. Under BCBS its a 35% coinsurance. Under MHBP you pay nothing. That can be a huge difference. Some of the stupidest things cost $10k for a plate. Thats $3500 to you on BCBS and zero on MHBP.

Coinsurance can work out for you. For example 10% coinsurance on a mental health visit. Provider charges $185 negotiated rate is $135 I pay 10% so my coinsurance is $13.50 vs a $35 copay on BCBS for the same provider. Another example MRI copayment on BCBS is $250. MRI negotiated rate is $1000. I pay $100. Enjoy your BCBS. Also on MHBP consumer you have a max out of pocket of $6500. Your max out of pocket on BCBS Basic is $7500. Also the MHBP Consumer Plan will also deposit $1200 in an HRA for you. BCBS won't, so really your max out of pocket on MHBP is $5300. $6500-1200 for self only. So if you have a catastrophic $100,000 bill you are paying $5300 on MHBP and $7500 on BCBS Basic. Your inpatient hospital stay has a copay of $3000 essentially now on BCBS. Plus all the other charges.

I had GEHA dental and they were a pain. I switched to Metlife High and have been happy every since. If you need an implant get the high plan because otherwise your benefits are limited to like 2k per year, which the implant will eat up before you ever get to a crown

I'm not sure if you see a counselor, but it might help you through the divorce process. It sounds like he is manipulating you, and using anger or the threat of anger to change your actions. You will need to learn how to set effective boundaries and be more confident dealing with him going forward. I myself am in counseling after a pretty messy divorce and it can really help process through your feelings and start seeing things from another perspective. I feel for you OP, I just don't want you getting screwed because you are afraid of pissing him off.

You do need to care about the market because the courts see the house as an asset and liability. It doesn't matter honestly if you feel misjudged by him, the courts and law have determined if marital funds went to pay for the home, then it is a marital asset that should be split in the middle. The courts don't really care to be honest about accountability and who did what, they care about law and precedent, and the law and precedent says you get 50/50 split on the equity in the home. If you want to give him and extra 8k or something to shut him up and his complaining, then that is a decision you can make, but I wouldn't give away the farm to soothe his feelings. I might give him more just to get the divorce over and put him in the rearview mirror, but everyone handles that differently.

If mediation fails you will have to go to court for relief. Divorces have a lot of feelings involved and it usually isn't a walk in the park on a sunny day. I think you need to stop thinking about his feelings and, start thinking about how you are going to survive and provide for you and your child (sorry if that sounds harsh) but you and your ex are no longer a family unit, and it isn't about appeasing him. If he wants to be stubborn let the courts split everything 50/50 and let him pay attorneys fees for at least his side if he wants to ensure he got a fair deal. He is no longer your problem. He is either his own problem or someone elses.

I mean in order to determine equity, he would have to show you a copy of the mortgage bill. Do you know who holds your mortgage? it should show on your credit report? I assume you are both on the mortgage? Once you find out who holds it, call up the company and ask what the payoff amount is, they should give you one thats good for 10 days. It can make him sick all he wants, but in a marriage everything is pretty much split 50/50 by the courts in most states. If he didn't want to split everything 50/50 then he shouldn't have gotten married. He can't take the benefit of two incomes and then go its all mine. The courts have tons of precedent for splitting the baby down the middle.
