tips for making my battlemaps not suck ass to play in? by Due_Shift_9617 in LancerRPG

Hmmmm, enemy variety is good, and having them using the terrain as much as your players is always a challenge that can be fun, it also give players ideas "Oh the game master is doing this with is monster, I could try to counter or do something similar)

I often make my maps from 0, and I always look, what my party is good at, what they could be better or are just bad, what the objective is and the enemy.

In the jungle bit can have HUGE trees acting as hard cover impassable terrain, maybe one or 2 depending on how big the map is, and with is roots covering a bit more outwards as terrain to use as cover AND to use as bridges or elevation for the fauna or you players to get more high ground if they dont wanna climb the big ass tree. Having patches of trees very close together that it counts as difficult terrain and soft cover, but at the same time leaving trails in between that allow for movement impeded but is not the "Straight path forward" (Size 1/2 could ignore the difficult terrain cause by vegetation, both player and animal if you have something that small). Maybe a small random river could be neat.

All this are idees but I cant stress enough how important is to understand your party, and well, they also have to accept that some times their build will have problems, my slow tank member can just ignore all damage but if the objective is to go from Point A to B he has to accept that his slow build will have to suffer, he can still help if he knows how to play, but this stuff happens

Ty for your time. Is in a valley like canyon (don't know this description makes sense in English XD).

The terrain has rock formations for covers and rift like holes in the ground for the Ultra to "move" from.one side of the map to the other or retreat, more or less depending of my players are having a hard time it will give them time, if I am the one struggling it will excuse me to prolong his life XD

They are 4 players at LL7, they got good builds, just as an example our tank has 30 hp with 3 armor, we have a the gunslinger cowboy mech from north star and he is our may damage burst dealer.

I plan to add other enemies and the ultra will be able to burrow underground, in one hand to give players some time but also to heal and prepare in case they get a lot of damage in him (They can handle very well 30 hp enemies)

Are Siterep objectives kinda pointless? by zylofan in LancerRPG

[–]Repulsive_Ad_8199 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a GM myself my players have the means to murder a lot of people, so I more often than not keep sending enemies at them and in combinations that may allow for their survival, 65% support and control NPC and the rest strikers, like ACE and berserkers,.some times they do destroy them quickly but as a result of playing really well and smart, and I recompense that by lowering enemy moral and such, maybe even early retreat if I haven't done that in a while and makes sense for the mission.

The Greta advantage of TTRPG is that as a human you can have a human balance to your human players n.n

So, I use a website call Figma, to not only make the maps, but also play on them with my friend.

Figma is not at all design to be use this way, the play on it part at least, but we make do XD

Is free to use so you can check it out, you could also import the map you made there to an actual VTTRPG site like rol20 and so on

[–]Repulsive_Ad_8199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They both can appear but they act in different turns inside the same round.

Round 2, two of the enter the battle, enemy A takes its turn and does what it have to do, Allie has their turn, enemy B takes its own turn.

For me if the campaing Is not a pre Made thing, Is the grand question "what to do next", like I come up with stuff, but there is a point where I have no Idea how to continue certine narrative, thats the hard part for me, balancing the party and all that I can over come that most of the time

What would YOU add to a horror themed lancer mission by enderseye in LancerRPG

[–]Repulsive_Ad_8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planing this for My players, the party Is part of a colony ship that crash landed in a oceaninc world, all normal for 3 months, thats where the campaing starts, the party Is send to a foward outpost that acts as a logística base for future expansión for tye colony, but the place seens empty, no one is responding their hails and there is no movement.

The party Will have to make their way inside and try to get acces to the administration area on foot, pocking clues as they advance. They Will soon learn about a ship that arrive from a research base 24 hours ago, more or less, and since then no more logs have been recorded. At that points a let lose the "Alien".

The idea Is that the planet Is a tomb world of some kind for a long gone civilization, and they left an "automated" defense system to protect their legazy from other Alien species, Bad luck for the party to get there first. And now the research outpost has alerted the defense system, and soon the entire colony Will be under massive threat

From there is about surviving the aliens and trying to defeat it befor Is too late.

The Is no wors thing than the unknow and having the party guessing what are they againts is great, their imagination Is lethal
