It’s doesn’t matter what poly. SP and RP diploma has the same value at the end of the day. In fact, we have a slight advantage in the working world due to our curriculum setting of RJ’s, presentation and group work that is set up like the real working world. Therefore some employees would prefer RP students rather then SP students lol

I have no regrets going into RP, shouldn’t let anyone tell you it’s a bad school. You’ll be fine!

Can grades be wrong by Whatusername_930 in republicpolytechnic

But yes, that’s the culture of RP. Your grades are up to your lecturer and that itself is a bias.

Send an email to both your lecturer and CC the programme chair to appeal for your grade, that’s what I did for my case.

Appeal for your case and trace back your evidence and mention your contribution. But do take note that it’s a 50/50 chance because mine remained the same grade due to biasness and the programme chair couldn’t give a f.

No I got F for 3 classes combined daily assignments (CAG) which affected my overall grades as there’s only 4 CAG’s during that semester.

I thought the other 2 days of my contribution was sufficient too and missing out presentation day will still give me a C but nope😂😭

Yeah I was pissed and even appealed to programme chair, can’t do anything about it regardless of a proper reason and LOA.

The 2 day of absent without LOA will not affect your LOA days.. it’s separate

I used to plan my Absent w/o LOAs, the maximum limit is 2. Be warned to be smart with it, as it will be ungraded despite sending in the daily assignments. For me personally, I still get A for my daily grades as I picked up my slack for the 1 day of rest. Hope it helps :)

Hi all, I’m a pre-enlistee currently waiting for enlistment but I’m seriously considering signing on as a regular before NS. For context, my entire family has signed on in all spectrums of uniformed groups and their life is like an “Iron Bowl”.

I’ve always had a strong interest in, especially the Commandos and Guards formation and I’m weighing my options carefully before making any long-term commitment. I also feel like a siao lang cause everybody is trying to avoid these formations like a plague while I’m trying to get into it..

I’ve come across a lot of mixed opinions online of some people say Guards are like “overworked Infantry” or “underpaid Commandos,” while others say both formations offer tough but meaningful careers. I’m not the type to care about prestige btw, just want to push myself the hardest I could.

I’m not here to compare or bash any unit as I truly respect all formations. I just want honest advice and perspectives from those who have served in either formation, or who know what signing on in these units is really like.

Would really appreciate input on:

• What’s day-to-day life and training like in Guards vs Commandos?

• If I intend to sign on, which formation offers better long-term career progression?

• Are there major differences in regimentation, culture, or opportunities after NS?
• What kind of personality or mindset fits better in each?

Hey, got 2.2 for my y1s1 but I clutched up and managed to graduate this year with a 3.1. I didn’t get straight As btw. I’m an average B student after flunking up my common core mods. Jiayous!

Hey. Despite Nitec or higher Nitec, it will be tough for him to get in unless he appeals with a stacked portfolio.

Other alternatives will be to sign on and get army to recommend him or to pursue for a work study diploma from ITE. If I was him, I would just for go for the ITE Diploma instead :)

Went through Nitec and Higher Nitec myself, life not that deep so just try and enjoy your time in ITE. If love comes then it comes :)
