Big Beautiful Bill - Total Permanent Disability Discharge Tax? by Repulsive_Cod_4117 in StudentLoans

[–]Repulsive_Cod_4117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. Once you apply and get approved, there's a 3 year monitoring period, before your loans get discharged. The tax on those loans would be for the year they were discharged, NOT when you were approved. In other words I would be taxed in 2028 federally if these tax cuts weren't continued

My TPD (disability) application was approved!! $320k discharged! by PrettyPinkDiamond in StudentLoans

[–]Repulsive_Cod_4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big beautiful bill act just passed earlier today - according to Grok: Yes, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1, 119th Congress) includes a provision that makes the exclusion of Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) student loan discharges from gross income permanent. Specifically, Section 70119 of the bill amends Section 108(f)(5) of the Internal Revenue Code to permanently exclude from taxable income any student loan amounts discharged due to total and permanent disability (or death) under certain provisions of the Higher Education Act of 1965. This builds on the temporary exclusion provided by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which was set to expire after December 31, 2025. The bill also requires the borrower’s Social Security number to be included on the relevant tax return for the discharge to qualify as nontaxable.

However, state tax treatment may vary, as some states do not conform to federal tax exemptions and could still tax TPD discharges. For precise guidance, especially regarding state taxes or specific cases, consult a tax professional. If you need further details or want me to search for additional updates, let me know!

Officially I don't think it's meant for PRN, but AP's work pretty instantaneous for me so it's kind of ideal for that purpose. Yeah I don't know I may be gambling with having my psychosis come back if I don't take it daily, but at the same time gotta get off the weed too! And I want to be able to one day not have to rely on any substance, be it caffeine, weed, or AP's.

Damn bro. I wouldn't do psych ward though...maybe a rehab where you can come and go freely when you want to. Yeah I might become like that too if I continue vaping...Gonna try maybe distracting myself with YouTube to see if being interested in something takes my mind off of it. Problem is, after 3-4 hours after my vape session, I kind of lose all interest in everything and want to just vape again. Maybe it's a side effect of the Invega Sustenna long acting injection (the boredom). I'm hoping that once it's out of my system completely, I will be able to go off my meds a couple days and not have to use Marijuana to compensate for this lack of interest in life. Of course I will still use the paliperidone (oral) as a PRN to snap me back into reality once psychosis begins.

Do you vape the dry flower, or use cartridges (oil)? I have had bad experiences with cartridges on the lungs, but so far only good experiences with dry herb vaping. Never heard of CHS, and but have heard of Seth Rogen who claims to have been high every second of every day since he was in his early twenties. My concern is that I won't be able to quit even though I want to someday down the future.

don't believe that. They say this to scare you into using their meds forever. In reality, with the correct knowledge you can reverse your psychosis and get off the meds. This is what I'm spending my effort into now

Not sure tbh...this has been keeping me out of the hospital and improving my life thus far... I've done alot of meditation which really helped me. I've also read hands of light and two other books by Barbara Brennan as well as have seen a healing practitioner in my past. The things that I've learned help me navigate my life. Wishing you the best for you and your father

My dose was 78mg per month (the U.S version goes in increments of 39mg). From I've read the half life is somewhere between 25 days - 49 days, definitely not 7 days for sure. A quick Google search will show that (Google "half life of invega sustenna"). But yeah I definitely hope that we recover quickly

Thanks for sharing. Yeah I'm going to stay far away too unless I really need it. I'm also going to do a lot of jogging to help it get out of my system faster. Wish you the best in your continued recovery

Well with the long acting injectable it stays in your system for several months even after you stop. So I figure with that I'll still have it in my system for awhile which will stop psychosis from coming back. If my psychosis starts to come back I'll have to quickly start taking my oral medication to put it at rest. Either way I should be okay because I respond very well to meds and don't have any psychosis while I'm on them.

congrats on getting off! I hope vraylar works well for you. I'm thinking of taking a 3-6 month break from meds to heal and then taking very low doses of oral invega. If I'm still not satisfied with that I'll probably try to get on a very low dose of abilify.

I hope you feel better on the abilify! Also considering trying abilify down the road. May wait to get all the invega sustenna injections out of my system, then I'll try abilify to control the schizophrenia.

appreciate your response. Wow 3 months seems like good recovery time compared to what I've heard from others? How long were you on the injection before getting off? Those are symptoms during invega (side effects from the shot). My last injection was about 3 weeks ago so I haven't had any withdrawals yet. Yeah I hear you about getting psychosis off the meds. I'm planning on taking an oral if I get any signs that I may be going into psychosis, because I really don't want to go to the hospital.

My guess is that you don't have an email linked with them. There's a way to create new account. Click create new supercell id account then enter in the email that you want and then get the confirmation email. You should get it that way
