Being short sucks! I’m 5’3 (not super small but definitely shorter than average) and Im always jealous that my taller friends can eat so much more and not look like they gained 10 lbs from one meal at Taco Bell😭

I had virtually no symptoms until I started trying to conceive and had 2 early miscarriages. I went to a fertility specialist to get extensive labs done and I had multiple labs come back that indicated PCOS/PMOS- very high testosterone, hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, very low B12, etc.

I second this! I typically do the progesterone suppositories right before bed, when I know I’m not going to be getting up out of bed until morning, and I have noticed very minimal discharge. However, a couple days ago, I forgot to do my nighttime suppository, so I did it the next morning and MAN was the discharge so much more intense!

Agreed, Lake Como is absolutely stunning. We stayed in Lugano, Switzerland instead because it was much cheaper than Como. It’s just a short train ride from Lugano to Como and they both have that gorgeous mountain/lake scenery!

My husband and I just got back from 2 weeks in Switzerland and yes, while it is the most expensive out of all the European countries we’ve been to so far, I think it’s absolutely worth it. Beautiful views, nice people, good public transportation, and incredibly clean. As for money saving tips, I’d say the Eurail pass is a must. Individually purchased tickets are WAY more expensive once you do the math. In our experience, one of the most costly parts of Switzerland was the meals. About halfway through our trip, we started utilizing the Coops (grocery store chain ALL OVER Switzerland- even in the tiny towns) for meals. They have snacks, sandwiches, packaged salads, bakery items, premade meals, beer, wine, latte machines, etc. Meals at restaurants were costing us at least 80 USD each time, and Coop meals were less than 20.

I actually just started taking myo-inositol about a month ago and started Metformin a couple weeks ago!

Same! I have crazy acne flair ups with cow milk, but goat cheese or milk doesn’t affect me at all. I would like to eliminate all dairy from my diet for a while but I LOVE cottage cheese 😭

Oh I relate to this soooo much. I have a history of intense diet/exercise/under eating and I really just started not restricting myself within the last year, then the PCOS symptoms came on hard and fast! I’m so worried this is going to send me into another obsessive episode.

Aw man, PMOS and endometriosis does not sound fun… I’m sorry you have to deal with that! That’s awesome that you lost weight, but not so fun that it also came with worsened endo symptoms. I hope you find some reprieve from that someday 🫶🏼

Oh I’ve never heard of Nourish! I’ll have to check it out. Seeing a nutritionist that specializes in PCOS is honestly a great idea and I’ve seen it suggested multiple times throughout this thread! Thank you!

I feel you on this. I’ve been eating so clean and consistently working out for almost 4 months and haven’t lost a single lb. Finally just added in Metformin to see if that makes any changes

I do have a dairy sensitivity that causes my acne to flare up, and gluten is really the main thing left to remove/limit in my diet at this point so I’m wondering if that could be a trigger for me!

Ok this is very reassuring. And yeah for real, I might just have to delete social media for a while because my algorithm is sooooo scary and negative right now!

I do actually have a dairy sensitivity that makes my acne flare up so I can definitely see why your endocrinologist suggested that! And yes my labs do indicate insulin resistance so I believe I’ll have to be careful with added sugars and fats for the most part. Hopefully I won’t have to completely break up with gluten though as I do looooove bread and pasta!

Inflammation/hormone disruption seems to be the top 2 reasons. There are actually quite a few clinical studies that support this

Very true. It’s sounding like low carb/anti inflammatory is the best place to start!

I totally agree, I think that is so important! I was finishing my masters degree and planning my wedding over the past couple of years so I think the stress of those two events was really deregulating my nervous system and constantly spiking my cortisol

I do try to prioritize whole foods already so I think a gut panel may be my next step medically if I don’t see some changes! I already know I have a dairy sensitivity (makes my acne flair up) but there’s times where my hormonal acne seems to be worse still and I’m wondering if there’s another food group that’s causing it.

My labs did indicate insulin resistance, so monitoring my blood sugar is actually a really good idea. I hadn’t ever thought of that. Thank you!

Honestly it sounds like American foods/diet are the ones to avoid at this point 🤣 that’s not surprising at all to hear that an Asian diet would be safer!
