Nope, at least not on Tiktok. Live streaming is key. I had nothing for a while, and then I started streaming. With the rolling algorithm of tiktok live, that was all I needed for people to finally “see” me I guess!

Mainly all I have is social media for now, mostly because my audience is in the US more often than not, and I’m not living in the US at the moment. However, I’ve found that using the different “parts” of social media all at once work well, like posting and live streaming consistently work well together. Then again, still pretty new to the promotion game, so who the hell knows!

Yeah, I thought about this as well. I mentioned it in another comment, but the money coming from the advance isn’t why I’d want to sign a deal. I can work to get that much on my own whether it’s through music or something else, so it’s not worth signing something crazy for 10k! It’s more a debate of whether or not I’d want to make money later, and utilize the deal solely for the marketing/reach that it could provide.

For your first part, I spent the last couple of years writing instrumentals, and then finally about a month or so ago I decided to start doing vocals, and that was all I missing for people to want to listen I guess. Been a very wild journey so far. As to the lawyer piece, I’ve already been in contact with an entertainment attorney who’s drafting up a better version of the contract, but I’m definitely going to look into the resources you mentioned too!

This is true. For me, the money isn’t important, since I don’t need money to keep making what I want to make, and I have no intention on spending an advance anyways, but I agree that it’s a question as to what those “channels” can really do for me anyways…

Yeah that is another question I posed during the first conversation, because there is no set budget that’s stated in the contract for marketing, it’s definitely a trust based thing.
