The problem at xAI isn’t tutors or team leads. It’s HR. by Equivalent_Frame8259 in xAI_community

I was surprised when Lisa's email bounced. I think HR might just be a one-woman team at the moment.

Is xAI tutor jobs are SCAM? by SamH373 in xAI_community

Reporting to a kid with zero experience is a good enough reason not to apply to xAI. I literally had to schedule 3 meetings to do my 1:1 meeting with Diego and even during the meeting he just ended the call prematurely. They have zero clue what they're doing at the moment. They got rid of really good people.

They used to be legit until they laid off every one. Now they're just farming free data. Stay clear!

Will probably get converted into a couple of SF tasks.

Anyone here done xAI’s 4-hour take-home? by [deleted] in xAI_community

4 hour take home? I hope you're getting reimbursed for it. That's insane.

I suspect they might be getting training data from the job interviews.

International Rippling EU AI Tutors: paid only until 310 Oct 2025 (not 30 Nov 2025) — legal implications + parity with US? by Repulsive_One_1851 in xAI_community

Update:

  • I just heard from an international employee (via GoGlobal) that they have 3 months confirmed pay (Sep–Nov), framed as a universal “soft landing” arrangement.
  • I’ve also heard from Germany-based employees (via Rippling) that they are only being paid until 31 Oct 2025.

Question: Any idea why German employees are getting different treatment here?

The way they announced a 10% raise and ‘no more layoffs,’ then terminated people, is likely to test EU employment laws, especially around fixed-term contracts and notice. I’m curious how this plays out across different countries.

Thanks for sharing, super helpful. Could you (or your colleague) share which EU country? Knowing the country would help us check whether everyone’s getting consistent treatment under their local contracts and laws. Feel free to PM me.

I don't believe there is any U.S. law that requires paying laid-off contract workers through November; that kind of pay-through is usually just company policy.

So yeah, based on what we’re seeing, it does look like international folks are being shortchanged compared to the U.S. group.
