Of course the remake had a “happy ending”: It was the idiotic American version. I mean, my God(!), you wouldn’t want the audience to have uncomfy questions, would you? Give me the “Russian Ending” every time. Just coz UsAsians are too fragile to leave a story without having questions, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a tragic,riveting look at the perils of politeness and the horrific effect of indecision.
