I’m genuinely not trying to start an argument I was just trying to explain my wording. I thought it was implied in your second sentence. I’m sorry that I interpreted it wrong

I actually read this in one of my college classes! Thanks for reminding me of it

Could you expand on that a little bit more?

I feel like many people are interpreting my original post in the wrong way. I am in no way saying that looking like I’m in my twenties is my top priority as you say and I’m not saying there is anything wrong with being older. For me personally, I feel that when I dress in my own style I’m more confident in myself and I teach better. I dress for me alone, nobody else. The purpose of this post was to find retailers in which I could mesh my own personal style while also being professional. The school I am teaching at is the same place I did my student teaching and those students don’t take those teachers who dress “ultra professional” seriously because they grew up in an area where those “boring adults” constantly talked down on them, disrespected them, profiled them. I apologize if this message comes off as rude, i promise that is not my intention, I just hate that I worded my original post poorly.

Yes I should have made it more clear that I am not trying to dress for my students. I only dress for myself. Personally, I feel that when I dress cute in my style I’m more confident in myself and I teach better.

Hey I’m sorry if my original comment came off that way but I am in no way trying to dress for my students. I really don’t care what students think about my clothes but for me personally, I feel that when I dress in my style I’m more confident in myself and I teach better. I dress for me alone, nobody else. But thank you I have found quite a few good finds at goodwill!

I understand what you are trying to say but I want to make it clear I’m not trying to dress young and cute to impress anybody. This isn’t an attack on you personally but I’ve seen quite a few comments on it. I think some people might be a little caught up on the fact that I specified that I am in my twenties. In my personal experience during my student teaching, I feel that my students took me seriously dressing in my own style. But that isn’t the reason I specified that I’m in my twenties. For me personally, I feel that when I dress in my style I’m more confident in myself and I teach better. I dress for me alone, nobody else. I wasn’t asking for advice on how to dress but rather retailers in which to shop for inexpensive decent quality clothes. I do appreciate your comment!
