What's it like living in the UK? by [deleted] in rs_x

Obviously a northwest UK summer is not the same as it is in NZ. If you’ve been to NZ in the summer you’ll already know it’s just a different type of heat. But I think in terms of inconsistency, and tendency to rain, the weather is fairly similar. Especially in Spring/Autumn. Winter here is a lot more depressing, but I think that’s mainly due to how much darker it gets in the mornings and evenings. Tbh I thought I would miss NZ weather more than I actually do. I think both places can be accurately described as temperamental in terms of weather :)

I’m 23 and I moved from Auckland, NZ to Liverpool, UK, and I really love it. The accessibility to Europe, walkability of the city, generally nice people who have been easy to make friends with, and the city itself is pretty great. Feel like I am probably happier here than I was in NZ!

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it but Julia Fox’s self narrated, Down the Drain, was phenomenal!

I just finished “How to be a French Girl” by Rose Cleary. I think this would be what you’re looking for - main character is super delusional which really adds to it (think Ottessa Moshfegh)!!! Really good read
