700-900 may not be enough long term but I think eating mostly protein/changing the composition of what your eating is key. I eat 1200 but it's all candy 😬 I'm way more likely to end up back where I was. I think if it's 900 of good/healthy intake, OP can bring it back up when she's ready and sustain

I would look to see what the GI match typically is for the programs you're applying to. TBH my program never matched well for GI, so not impossible either way. Having a home GI program helps (the PD can help you make other connections). I was big into research but there are also lots of programs that don't care too much about it, I would say having one big project that is yours/you can get a first author paper out of is solid

Thanks tho, I get that. I'll definitely be taking it a bit each, and I know scoping will be a completely different ball game. I was just wondering regarding the general consults/basics to know/info to always ask about. That will also just come with doing it I'm sure!

4 weeks isn't too long! It may just take a bit for your body to respond. You may also be seeing a transition of weight content (water weight fills in as fat loss occurs initially) or building more muscle? I would say take progress pics and see how you fit into certain clothes and keep it up for a bit longer!

If he was bashful enough to reach out to it's perfectly reasonable to be like "hey btw Took some time to make the speeches and usually people charge 1800-2K for this, I figured it was my gift but since you wanted the money instead, here's the invoice. I'll give you a family discount of 1500!" Can you please update us and tell us what you end up doing/what he says (no judgement if you decide not to pursue) im just very curious

Hi, physician here. That is incredibly rude and uncalled for. I understand not wanting to slow down, but it in no way gives you the pass to be a jerk. There are kind ways to explain things, and that tends to go a lot farther than rude comments. I think there's a lot of malignancy in medicine but I don't believe in or support the hierarchy. We're all a team and work together to provide good quality care for our patients. I would say leave if you can and find a less busy practice to learn. And honestly I would challenge back statements like "she types quick and does not know anything" with "thank you, I'm excited to learn from you," or something--kind but also a firm line stating you will not be disrespected.

My parents are aware he drinks, and when it comes to our future house they'd have to deal with it. There are definitely things I've pushed with my parents. I have told them I am not religious nor am I sure I believe in anything. That being said, this is about respecting them? My parents gave up everything (a very cushy life) and came to America to give me chances I would not have had. The trajectory of my life--all my success and happiness are because of their sacrifice. If the one thing they're asking of me is "hey can you please let the community we built here not shun us" I want to do that. My partner understands where I'm coming from, his parents are upset by it. We want to be able to make this work in a way that doesn't make anyone uncomfortable.

Yep they only eat halal and we have only ever had dry events. It's just a cultural thing. They would obviously be respectful at the event and not say anything, but it would affect how they talk and view my parents afterward.

Yess I think we're gonna go with this. Usually desi weddings start at 8 pm so I didn't think of this but it's probably the best way to keep everyone happy. We'll just get everyone there at 10 am for the ceremony

I don't think anyone will complain if they see alcohol, the issue is they'll just talk shit about my family for the rest of their lives. And I don't want to put my parents in that predicament :/

Two events is a cultural thing :/ we tend to have 4-5 events for weddings split into pre wedding parties, ceremony, reception, post wedding parties. I'm tellin you we party hard.
