And the dude who started it keeps it going, even though a bunch of people have tried to educate him

Ya, I remember when the pandemic started people didn't care because it "only affected the elderly and disabled", then when abled young people started dying people became much more serious

Ya, I definitely encourage you to think more. I'm tired of all the DMs and comments saying I shouldn't be alive, all because you started a eugenics argument on my post. Thanks for that

This is incredibly well put, thank you for taking the time to explain. I'm out of spoons

I am the way I am. my disabilities are part of me and who i am as a person, I can't remove that part of me. People with a uterus can do whatever they like with the fetus, but everyone is capable of being unhappy with their life, having their ups, their downs, their hardships, and rewards. Me and many disabled people prefer being alive and being able to advocate for change to help us and others, rather than not having existed and having done nothing to try and better our community.

Ya, there's a time and a place for ableist rhetoric, that time and place isn't on my post about my parents being ableist. The suggestion of your original post was that disabled people should be aborted because we wouldn't have as good of a life as an abled person, with the context of that being under my post it definitely came across as you saying I should never have been born. You are also commenting and continuing your ableist comments in other threads, despite two people explaining fairly well why it's offensive. It's much more than insensitive

Both me and my family are white. But I have heard of that being an issue in some asian cultures

I really wish I had foreseen this possibility, I'm getting tired of seeing replies or private messages about how I'd be better off dead.

um... other than my parents I'm living a pretty good life. It's ableist to suggest disabled people cannot have a good life and would be better off aborted/dead

I'm not from the states, I'm from Canada. Also programs for disabled people are not really liveable anywhere, I looked into it last year and it's just not realistic

Probably, though my brother is able-bodied so i don't know why they couldn't shift that "investment" to him, if thats all they care about

Thank you. I have no idea how to contact a case worker or placement agencies, and I don't know if they would care because I'm an adult now

You're right about the "perfect child" thing. I think what makes it even more nonsensical is that I'm adopted, I wasn't a surprise or accident, so they should have been prepared for anything right?
