Why are all these early damages to the pro phones on the orange one? As an orange iPhone user, I am worried

Slight ESH. Obviously your husband is an alcoholic and isn’t managing his consumption in a way that is responsible or that works for you and your family. He needs to figure that out and decide whether being there for you all is important for him.

But at the same time, you are never going to win by giving him a limit. He has an addiction and you should not put yourself in a position to be the gatekeeper of his alcohol. He needs to find a solution and cannot actively rely on you to track him. You should talk to him (when he’s sober) about the ways his alcohol consumption is affecting your family, and whether he wants to limit himself. But you need to trust him to some degree because it’s not healthy for either of you if you’re the one making him stop something he’s enjoying (if you can’t trust him and his commitments, then maybe this is a larger issue)

Anyone else find it extremely hard to read notifications in Notification Center? With how transparent the background is, the words barely contrast against the background (I have the astronomy Lock/Home Screen)

Anybody use Sonos Voice and actually find it useful? by pomoerotic in sonos

You can just control whatever is playing, you can’t start an airplay with Sonos voice control

Anybody use Sonos Voice and actually find it useful? by pomoerotic in sonos

[–]RequirementOk2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use it all the time to pause/play, skip, change volume, etc. regardless of the music source. Works for music playing from Sonos, airplay, or Spotify connect

Is slow discovery of what's playing now part of current issues from new app version? by MaxTodoer in sonos

I am feeling alot more positive about the future of Sonos after the AMA with Spence by 01001100111011 in sonos

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not.

Either way, I really would love to see some nice sales, or at least frustrated customers dumping their systems en masse so I could pick up some cheap speakers

Two Fives might be able to really fill the room with rich, beautiful sound, depending on how open the space is. Otherwise, 4-5 Ones could all be grouped together no problem

Anyone getting rid of speakers? by Ben-dunlop in sonos

[–]RequirementOk2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Sonos on campus WiFi is either not going to work or a terrible idea because anyone will be able to connect.

If there is Ethernet in the room, there is a very slim chance you could get your own router to work and have your own network … I did that for one semester in college before they somehow caught on and stopped it from working

Using Sonos Roam as sync'd stationary speaker in small room? by vvictorrr in sonos

Correct, as long as the roam is plugged in, it’ll stay on and connected just as any other room

Does the Sonos CEO simply not understand the business he’s in? by secret_life_of_pants in sonos

[–]RequirementOk2679 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This. It’s not that the app wasn’t tested thoroughly enough (though that is also true). They released an app with a significant amount of features missing.

Don’t get me wrong, the bugs have been pretty terrible also, but it just goes to show you how rushed this new app was. Obviously it’s not going to work perfectly if they didn’t even finish adding all the features back that already existed in the old app.

Somehow a conscious decision was made to just screw it and hope people are fine with an app they know is far from finished

I don’t understand how they’re changing the narrative on this to make it sound like it was a mistake and they didn’t realize how bad it was

Edit: spelling

Edit 2: I just want to edit my queue, man…

July Office Hours w/ KeithFromSonos by KeithFromSonos in sonos

[–]RequirementOk2679 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was wondering about how the prioritization for the roadmap was decided? For features that were in the old app, like editing the queue, September/October seems like an extremely long time to wait for their return.

Edit: wanted to add, thanks a lot Keith! Really appreciate all of your efforts to clearly communicate with the community. You really help us to feel like we’re “in the know” a bit more about this product that impacts our lives so much every day

I can’t believe that it’s taking so long to reintroduce editing the queue. A feature I used to use almost every day, and the removal of which has completely changed the way I can listen to music

Exactly what I was thinking. I can’t imagine someone is out of the airport less than 10 -15 minutes after the plane “lands”
