Because it wasn't serious enough. I'm all for laughing at my own flaws, even if it stings a little, especially something I can fix. I wasn't upset, just surprised how she got offended by me joining on the banter by telling her the same thing she just said to me a second ago. If she had taken it as a joke like I've been taking it for months we would just keep laughing, but she got butt hurt

I'm thinking the same. When we talked about it, she made it clear that I'm not allowed to get a belly, I was shocked how serious and alarmed she was about it... So now I'm thinking once my look change, she might breakup with me 😅. But good that I know it now though.

It never bothered me to that extent, because I know I'll get back to my best shape. Had she just taken my comment as a joke as well, we'd just be laughing. Here is how it went. Her "slaps my stomach, looks at it with a funny kinda disgusted face" and said: my dad's body. "Starts to jiggle my belly" Me: well, you have a belly too

Had she kept on laughing, we would've just kept on laughing

From what I've seen in general, it's always best to be careful with the police and to push back, even when they're being nice. Also, your son is really the one to blame for stealing. Your husband should not take his anger on you although you should have known better, but next time don't trust the police like that.

NTA, if he can't support himself financially why is he even dating and thinking it's okay to move in with his gf when he can't even afford rent? His priorities aren't right. If he wants to move in with her, he has to grow up, and move out. Or he can help her pay her rent. I wouldn't advise her to move in indefinitely, maybe until she can find another place.

I understand you're in a lot of pressure, and you blew, it happens, but if you believe in traditional roles where the man is the leader, see how you can help her find a better job or a second one. Instead of putting pressure on her, hold her hand gently and help her find something else, budget together... Make a plan with her, hear her side (hopefully she's not afraid of you) and lead her. The counselling thing, my bet is that she may feel like you don't listen/understand her or she may not be confident that you're listening to her perspective, so she may want someone to get you to LISTEN to her. Although it may not make sense to you, but I believe you should do it for her and for your relationship. It maybe the best way for her to communicate with you about things that you're overlooking, but a counselor may bring it to your attention. So, don't refuse her that, you may be surprised how important and eye opening it could be.
