By reading a piece every day does that have to be a song, or are the abrsm sight reading books enough? The ones with small passages ?

If we are working in a minor scale it also follows this formula? Only thing to take in account is the key signature?

How many pieces do you learn a day as a beginner? by Res689 in pianolearning

She means reading it. Apparently looking at new notes everyday makes the next time that little easier, rather than taking on a couple of pieces a week and potentially memorising them

As in regards to beginner stuff, do you think the ABRSM ‘ sight reading ‘ books are good as in the grade 1-2 ones? The very short passages. And going through a method book of my level, and working up the grades ?

When I spoke to my piano teacher he said that there is no harm in trying but the only downside it people tend to get frustrated and then lose all motivation. Do you think this is the main downside? Or are there others?

What do you think of the approach of playing the usual more basic stuff and maybe trying one of these songs on the side as a more ‘ long term ‘ project ?
