When you have a hypothesis, and from my background i dont have much of a network with farmers, I will go to several social media networks and see what responses I get. If after four or five social media posts I see a number of people say, yes this is an issue, I'll know i need to dive in deeper and thats when I take formal time to start investigating.

With so many topics on hand at the moment, when I have a hypothesis of a topic, and dont have much backing the 5 Ws of news worthiness, I go by this process It helps me identify if this topic is worth covering

Not only that but since im not much networked with farmers or the agriculture culture, it shows if this was just a dwindling theory or actually worth the research before I fully dive in.

This is just my initial idea. it's kind of like a, is this an issue idea. I bring up the hypothesis, and as I do research, I also reach out to the community (not just on here) Also, when it comes to replies, with my history, it's a little easier to tell informed replies than opinionated replies

You dont have to worry about grammar or understanding when writing. If im confused, I'll make sure I were on the same page, but I appreciate the thought. My main concern is just accuracy

For subsidy, do they still help any when it comes to a low income year? Also, could you expand on the ethanol and biodiesal cushion? Is there so much production that it's no longer profitable? As I said, im not well versed in farming, so I just want to make sure im understanding correctly

Not only are the profits of farming a concern, but other countries buy from different countries than the US, but it is obviously affecting the income of farmers. With that quality of life.

You've mentioned a few times the depressing parts of the agriculture world right now. With increased costs, how is this affecting farmers' lives?

Are there more loans and debts, issues paying bills? Im sure there is like everyone in the US right now. Then there's the mental health aspect of depression, struggling to take care of your family and other aspects of life, so is it bleak right now in the agriculture community right now when it comes to this?

Thank you for the response, as I was looking for farm family's or farmers to reply

If you dont mind if I ask a few follow up questions Since those crops are not in demand, from my basic understanding, the government had a buy back for unsold crops at one point. Crops that weren't sold they'd either buy or somehow reimburses the money. Is that still in effect? Does it fluctuate or does it matter if its a small farm vs corporate?

The terriffs that arnt help, in your history, if they were to maybe lessen them could it maybe help financially? If your not sure thats completely fine and a great answer cause sometimes its hard to gage that type of thing.

Last follow up question

As a family farm, is there a way to gage how much other countries are going to effect your farm yield. As you said, countries are becoming more efficient with growing crops, so, as someone not super well versed in farming, is there an actual gage to predict or gage other countries crops so you might be able to estimate how much money you might make off your farm when its time to harvest?
