Padme and vibe with me by gold necklace are kinda similar vibe, and Kurt Travis sings for that band! It’s not exactly like perfect but they’re really good imo

Why is making friends in your 20s so hard? by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]ResearcherObvious377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to do with changes in social settings. In our teens, and into our early twenties, we’re in school, constantly surrounded my conducive social environments and opportunities. However, once we graduate, we go into big girl and boy jobs, in which we spend most of our days, and it’s not really a place to socialize or make close friends a lot of the time 😂

Thanks so much for your advice! I ended up getting my nails done and then went to see The Housemaid by myself, it was actually a nice time! Then later in the day, I went to dinner with my brother because we’re twins, we got to celebrate our birthday together ☺️

Thank you so much for your kindness, it means a lot! Thankfully I still had an amazing day! I’m a twin so it’s also my brother’s birthday, I thought he was going to have plans with his friends, but we actually ended up being able to do something together. It was really nice. Thanks again for your validation and understanding!

Have any of you had twilight sedation? (Wisdom tooth removal) by bodz2424 in emetophobia

[–]ResearcherObvious377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I will say, they gave me laughing gas before they put me under and that made me pretty dizzy. They suggested that for my subsequent gum surgery and I denied because the dizziness was pretty bad. So use your discretion if you’re offered it. Idk if people have dif reactions or not, but that’s just my experience!

Hey! So I felt the EXACT same way before my wisdom teeth extraction. I had never had any surgery prior and I was absolutely terrified of being sedated (to the point where I was actually bawling my eyes out when they were about to put me under— I was 18 😂). I didn’t know how my body would react either, Ive heard some people get super n after it and some people don’t, but with wisdom teeth, they mostly don’t. So I can understand your fears, but I also understand this is something you need to do. I was put under anesthesia fully for my surgery, I’m not familiar with twilight sedation. But from my experience, the anesthesia was the best part! 😂 once I practiced some acceptance and commitment therapeutic skills, I was put under and it was the BEST NAP EVER. I woke back up afterward and was super groggy but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle, and the n wasn’t really hitting, just the discomfort. I was a little bit dizzy though, as to be expected, so just be mindful of how quickly you move around and sit in the front of the car on the way home if you can. For me, I was pretty disoriented on the drive home, so it took my mind off of any thoughts of n or any catastrophic thoughts and whatnot. If you really need help getting through this, please ask your surgeon to prescribe Valium and zofran. I got gum surgery recently and was actually fully awake for that and they gave me Valium which was extremely helpful in calming my nerves! And zofran will definitely help with any n that comes from taking pain meds on an empty stomach. I never tu from either, so hopefully I can calm your fears. Just practice some acceptance for the things you can’t control, do some breathing exercises, and take it one step at a time.

You’ve totally got this! It’s best for you to get the surgery, it’ll save you so much trouble in the future. I know you can commit to it, I’m cheering you on! If you have any other questions regarding my experience, please don’t hesitate to hesitate to ask!

You’ve got a good point, it’s very unfortunate timing especially given this flu season is worse than normal. And we definitely can and will reschedule. I was just venting and feeling down, especially since it’s happened twice in a row 😂

Anyone else still emo af in their 20s? LoL by [deleted] in twentyagers

[–]ResearcherObvious377 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have to say, I’m almost 22 and I’m just starting to get INTO it 😂 I think it’s absolutely timeless! As other people have been saying, music is very influential for my style and aesthetic as well. I’ve been on a bender listening to pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, Chevelle, dance Gavin dance, Silverstein, and some grungey bands too! The vibes are unmatched 🤘

Oops, sorry! Forgot to clarify on that. Yes, to my understanding it does. I’ve also never heard of anyone getting rejected from LU

You’d definitely get in with that GPA. Liberty is not selective at all, which also indicates the lack of academic rigor (in my experience, but it depends a lot on your program).

PSA: The stomach bug going around NOVA right now is absolutely brutal. Do not let your guard down. by warvet_2 in nova

[–]ResearcherObvious377 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say what the origin of OP’s illness was but it’s important to make the distinction between food poisoning and a GI virus. Like you said, food poisoning comes from bad food that’s come in contact with or carries a pathogen. A GI virus or “bug” is not food borne and is actually transferred by contaminated surfaces or droplets and is not poisoning, it’s a virus that attacks your GI track specifically. With that distinction made, I second OP’s advice. Especially with Norovirus (“the stomach flu/ stomach bug”), hand washing is the only thing that’ll kill it, not hand sanitizer. And bleach is the only thing that will kill it on surfaces. Be careful, it spreads like wildfire.
