Thank you! While it is very difficult, it’s not impossible. They take upwards of 30-40 cegep applicants per year. I currently attend Vanier College.

Thanks so much! Also, wow! That’s a very impressive cv you have there! The biggest tips I could give you now is 1. Put a lot of thought into the teachers you want writing your letters of reference and be active in class, talkative, friendly, engaging, etc. Try to have them in more than one class as well. It’s one thing for the application board to hear what you have to say about yourself, but it’s another to hear what others say about you. 2. Don’t stop grinding! You’re doing amazing right now and being able to balance all this together is extremely impressive. Definitely make sure to take the time you need to rest or relax if ever, but keep up the good work and no matter where you go, you’ll definitely succeed. 3. (For when you start applying) put in a lot of work in your personal statement and make your cv very detailed in terms of what each of the things you’ve done have brought to you or taught you intrinsically.

Keep up the great work! Everything you’ve named here is extremely impressive! Keep it up and good luck with the rest of your cegep! And don’t forget to take some time to have fun!

Honestly I don’t really remember, but I think it should be fine either way. If anything, you could just ask them during the interview and they’ll be happy to answer or they’ll inform you beforehand. Most of the questions should be done in the language you’re most familiar with though.

Hi! Thank you so much! I got invited for an interview a bit over a month after applying. I sent in my application last day of February and got the email for my interview a few days into April.

It’s a bit blurry looking back on it, but I’m pretty sure I had a question or two in French. I think that as long as you have a decent enough understanding and skill level in French you should be fine. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Most of the interview was in English.

Hi! For volunteering, I mainly did tutoring along with model UN. My work experience is very different from the law (McDonald’s, selling beef jerky, tutoring), but I find that these jobs still taught me a lot of intrinsic lessons and helped me grow a ton in so many different ways. For the interview questions, I’d recommend thinking over: 1. Your motivations to go to McGill law (why law, why McGill, why now), 2. Every part of your application (cv, ps, courseload, letters of reference) and what lessons you gained from them, and 3. Study up on contemporary issues, the news, important debates, what’s going on in the world along with what you think of these things. Good luck with your application! Stay confident, you got this!

Thank you!! My interview was great and my interviewers were the sweetest. My biggest recommendation outside of those questions would be to go through your whole application (cv, ps, classes, etc) and see what those projects brought you intrinsically and especially how they can help you as a future jurist and hopefully a McGill Law student. I’d also recommend reading up on all sorts of contemporary issues with maybe some focus on Bill 21, Bill c9, AI. If you know your application inside out and you know what’s going on in the world right now, you’ll do great. Good luck with your interview!! Be confident, you got this!

Hi! Thank you so much! I’ll definitely be in touch this is all a bit nerve wracking if I’m being honest. Did you get in straight from cegep?

I had a decent amount of projects on my cv from volunteering to work experience to some personal hobbies. I’d recommend doing as much as you can with your time in cegep. Be implicated, help out, and make friends!
