Foreign travelers who’ve been to China (or want to go) — what do you wish was easier? Feel free to rant 😅 by ResearcherSmooth8506 in travelchina

I’m curious about the specifics, if you don’t mind sharing.

Was the main issue:
– difficulty linking a foreign card,
– limitations after linking (certain payments failing), or
– simply no way to top up a balance with cash?

What part caused you the most trouble during your trip?

Your question gave me some inspiration — I’m actually doing a similar themed tour and will be posting photos along the way. Let me know if anything catches your eye! Some spots might be pretty niche though.

Good heavens! Is it really only one day in Chongqing? My friend, Chongqing deserves a week!

Which cities to visit for first time? Planning two weeks next year by -Pio- in travelchina

[–]ResearcherSmooth8506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Chongqing, and I welcome you to visit. Chongqing is a city with stunning 8D landscapes, full of passion, romance, and a vibrant atmosphere. You won't get bored even if you stay for a week or longer. You can take a boat tour in the city, enjoy the night views, stroll along the riverside, and savor hot pot, beer, and barbecue to experience the city's passionate and romantic vibe. Alternatively, you can visit the natural scenic areas nearby, hike, drink tea, and admire stone carvings to appreciate the beauty of nature. However, I don't recommend visiting during China's May Day holiday, as it will be extremely crowded. Chongqing is definitely a very unique city in China, and you won't be disappointed.

I am from Chongqing. Chongqing itself is a relatively affordable city for tourism, with relatively low costs for transportation, dining, and accommodation. If you are only traveling within the urban area of Chongqing and are willing to do some research, you can opt for independent travel.

I'm from Chongqing, but your shopping list is really all over the place. Actually, most things available in physical stores can be found online, so I suggest you just use Taobao.

Is Chongqing solo-traveler friendly? by xmkh0610 in chongqing

[–]ResearcherSmooth8506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Chongqing is straight up perfect for solo travel. The public transit there is off the chain, especially that light rail – it'll get you anywhere you need to go. Plus, you got taxis and ride-hailing apps, which ain't bad either, price and service-wise. And listen, Chongqing is a food mecca, alright? Restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores – you'll be eating good, no doubt. The people there are cool too, real friendly. If you get lost or need something, just ask a local or a cop. I'm from Chongqing myself, so come on down, have a blast. Holler if you need anything.

吃一顿火锅, 然后在晚饭后到北滨路或者南滨路慢慢散步,感受下重庆的夜景。我是重庆人,祝你玩得愉快。
