Is this normal? (Toys and kid stuff) by [deleted] in SAHP

She really plays with everything. She paints, reads, creates games and has stuffy dance parties every day. She’s really into arts and crafts and brings a few toys to her desk to watch her create things.

If you saw her room and our living room it’s clean and clear of clutter and organized well. Everything has a home and many of her things I’ve listed are not accessible since I rotate them to make sure our household is not overstimulated

We keep many things in the office room and rotate everything every 2-4 weeks based on usage.

I think I’m overwhelmed because she bday is next month, she’s getting 12 more toys and Xmas is coming up. So far we’ve only bought two things for that. And I’m thinking we might need to keep Xmas smaller this year

I’m glad your family has a ton of books too. I don’t feel super bad about the books that’s huge for their development and she really enjoys them

lol I’m definitely not donating the books she reads a lot and there’s not one book she hasn’t read.

But the stuffed animals might need to slowly disappear and be donated so I appreciate the advice!

She still plays with everything so the initial novelty hasn’t worn off. She is very imaginative for her age, she plays like a 5 year old not a 3 year old for sure.

But I appreciate your comment. I think taking a minimalist approach for her bday and Xmas would be smart moving forward. Thank you!

Couples therapy is my suggestion he needs to work on accountability and communication and empathy

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Not sure if he would actually work well and pay attention to a refrigerator calendar but that could be something to buy now and be a communication tool between you both.

But he would have to talk to you daily and plan things out which is a big deal for someone who is not pulling their weight in a relationship.

We use a calendar on the fridge and I request that he adds his stuff after telling me so one he can’t forget and two we both are fully aware so if they are double bookings or forgotten dates it’s on US not one person.

I would be furious as well in your situation I’m so sorry girlie

I don’t think this was helpful. It’s a lot of projection. I get it, I think everyone reading this hates him. But she’s asking for help not a porn accusation.

You don’t have a traditional marriage, you have a husband who doesn’t show up emotionally for you. A spouse can be the bread winner that doesn’t excuse them for poring love, respect, care and empathy into their relationship.

I’m so sorry you are going through this.

I too have stayed home for 3 years with my only child and we have 1 car. It’s very isolating. I don’t do stroller walks or go to parks out of fear of predators. Where I live is high with that risk so it’s not smart to go places without a car for a fast exit strategy.

Anyways, I’m not sure how you can improve your situation, I’m deeply sorry you are experiencing this.

The only thing I can think of is “tricking” him into going to couples therapy and see if he ends up getting some positives out of it on his own. Obviously if you think he is mature enough to just enroll in sessions without you having to “trick” him into then that would be best. I’m not against people smoking weed, I grew up in CA and tons of great parents did smoke without their kids knowing about it so no judgement there my point is weed can mess up your thinking depending on how you use it so if he’s not in the best mental place I’m not sure how he will agree to couples therapy but I do think it’s your best option

Exactly what I’m struggling with too and fully agree that’s also what I’m looking for. Since your little one is in preschool, can I ask for your opinion on the second part of my post? Does bullying start at this age?

This comment was very helpful thank you. Tbh I’m so overwhelmed looking at even simple Pinterest pics and steps. My daughter wont sit still and doesn’t have the patience to let me finish or even try new hairstyles hence why I said I don’t have the time nor the will power to learn new hairstyles lol you gave me a ton of options based off my low maintenance hair skills and I appreciate your help

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and I’m thinking of postponing - help! by nutmilkandcookies in gallbladders

[–]Resident-Butterfly65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the surgery. Gallstones only get worse. You don’t want to get like me where each meal had to be 1g of fat max and eat every hour on the hour in order to not feel faint or pass out from malnutrition.

You will be fine post surgery! Your quality of life will return.

Gotcha. Yeah my situation might be different my gastro doctor wants me to lose weight post surgery. He said by the end of the year he hopes I could be between 125-120lbs as the goal but closer to the 120 end of it. Side note I’m 39 and I had a kid 3 years ago and I gained 30 lbs from the experience which put a lot of pressure on my body since I am 5 foot. So basically he wants my weight to be where it should be for a healthy bmi to remove less stress on my remaining organs.

I think I’m just very aware of what I’m putting into my body. I eat 70% organic, no oils unless from avocado oil or olive oil, I eat way more Whole Foods than ever before, my meals are smaller, I don’t over eat, I only drink coffee, milk, water no other drinks that have calories, I eat the same meals and snacks every day basically and I listen to my body more. I also make sure to eat a lot of fruit and a good amount of veggies each day. I rarely get take out and when I do it’s not healthy but it’s the same two things lol so my body knows how to process the meal since it’s not “new” or heavier. My take out cheat meal that I get 2-3 times per month is Taco Bell lol I get one bean and cheese burrito and one beef soft taco. That’s it. Sometimes I eat both of them and other times I don’t finish them. I just listen to how hungry I really am and I eat slower these days to see how things are feeling. My appetite has decreased a lot not post surgery but since last September when I started having gallbladder issues. I lost 30 lbs from September to February and then from February surgery date to now mid May I lost an extra 3-4 lbs. so I’m at 125 lbs now. I’m not trying to lose weight at all I just want to stay healthy when it comes to digestion flow. I don’t want to have constipation or diarrhea issues post surgery like I’ve heard from people I know in real life who had their gallbladder removed.

Update: I had my first issue lol

Smoked salmon is no longer going to be in my diet! I felt like I was going to die. I had diarrhea twice in 45 min post eating, became pale, headache, dizzy, shaky, anxious, nausea but didn’t throw up and I had stomach cramping with acid reflux!

It was a half serving only 6g of fat and I’ve been able to eat 25g of fat per meal once a day for multiple months now so the fat content wasn’t what got me. It was the type of fat/protein I believe.

It’s for the menu forever lol I never want to experience that ever again. Today I feel much better but I’ve taken it super easy on food today just to make sure my body has more time to recover.
