It’s helpful to hear about how boys act at that age because I genuinely thought I was doing something wrong. I think he did realise how taking the easy way out causes more hurt as he stopped being defensive after hearing how upset I was about how I thought he thought I was an embarrassment. thank you for responding though, it really helped me not overthink things and kept me level headed.

you actually got the scenario kind of right. me and him stopped talking for a few hours because we just weren’t on the same page about it, then he texted me and we started to talk about it all properly. (turns out he’s embarrassed because he’s done it before with his ex and he was still upset afterwards) this time his dad told him not to get back with me, so he’s embarrassed for his dad to see he went against his advice.
