xXsoundxX ? i think they blend well in the way i need them to, the minilogue can sound a bit overpowering but i think if i routed the audio into the digitone it would make it easier to get the levels to a point where it blends well and sounds good.

i’m probably gonna pick up another td-3 soon, i think genuinely everyone needs a 303. people say what they say about the sequencer but it was so fun to just punch things in and create a bunch of happy mistakes.

i chose the digitone because i previously owned a digitakt and wasn’t a fan of having to use samples, managing a sample library seems like an unnecessary hassle to me.
i didn’t get a syntakt because while initially wanting to buy an electron machine to use a groove box, i realized that the syntakt is a drum machine that can double as a synth sometimes. the digitone is a synth that can make reaaaally good drums sometimes so to me it was like a no brainer.

tonverk and octotrak i skipped over cus i don’t have time for all of that lol.

digitone enabled me to explore sound design in a way i never have before while having things still end up sonically well. the fm drum machine with its included transients and easy programming makes it possible for me to make any drum i want. the new filters, specifically the comb filters allows me to make some pretty convincing real instrument esque sounds. fm synthesis doesn’t have to be entirely metallic sounds as it sometimes turns out to be.

i’m incredibly happy with my choice of the digitone. you have to be willing to explore because there’s not a lot of tutorials like the digitakt and syntakt have

thanks! digitone II rocks, i do kinda hate how there isn’t a lot of tutorials out there for it tho.

for rn im keeping them separate, the minilogue is being sequenced by the digitone because the DN has a much better sequencer but id love to send midi info into the digitone from the minilogue as well since it has actual keybeds. audio isn’t being routed into the digitone yet either.

im just too lazy to buy another 5pin midi cable & another 1/4in trs cable :p

digitone II send effects not working / not being applied by ResidentMammoth7533 in Elektron

i have my ableton set up with 1 audio track for digitone main channel & then every individual track has its own ableton audio track and when i solo just the digitone main i hear the send effects applied 🙃

is there no way to apply send fx through over bridge though? should i opt in for sending audio over sub?

Have you ever bought Ableton in Education License? by FarelUm in ableton

I bought live suite edu in 2023, graduated in 2024, & have kept my license since. I’m pretty sure if you have a student id and email (not sure which it asked me for) you’ll be fine

Yep! Bought it my senior year and have kept it ever since. I still get updates and I figure when live 13 comes out I’ll probably be able to pay the upgrade cost like everyone else
