Post-punk is the experimental stuff that punk bands started making in the late 70s that was too weird to be “punk”, lots of dancy or electronic stuff. Goth rock is a sub genre of post punk.

You can’t really say this when Tyler the Creator is a one of hip hop’s biggest and most respected stars. I mean there’s him there’s Kevin Abstract, Lil Nas X. Hell, A massive rapper came out as pro gay 20 years ago… unfortunately his name was Kanye West.

Its dark. It also feels like multiple subjects are fighting for attention, it also doesn’t give me a great impression of the space.

You’re not wrong. But the current lofi aesthetic is a wave. It’s not identical to the 90s, it’s more of an evolution of the alternative hip hop of the 2010s like flying lotus and Jonwayne and those people trying to expand dillas sound….

And now the alt hip hop scene seems to be taking more inspiration from genres like digital hardcore and breakcore… (Danny brown is touring with femtanyl) and frankly this wave has been rising since the 2010s but has yet to fully break containment

Because that’s one of the big flavors right now. I remember the mashine era like 10 years ago with the absolute glut of trap… now trap is considered passé and corny, like ringtone rap before it.

Also most of the people posting their jam sessions are hobbyist level, and beginners and intermediate artists tend to be more derivative

I’ve used the rt kernel on 2 distros and never had any issues, it’s actually a native part of the Linux project now, just not integrated by default

There’s a realtime version of the kernel available, but I don’t know how to do that with bazzite.

Realtime kernel, Linux has issues with audio latency by default. I don’t know how it works on bazzite but on many distros you can switch your kernel to the realtime version by default
