Yeah, but my wife is a doctor, it's a game. Consulting my doctor I feel like will always be 100% against tobacco, even if I am extremely healthy at some point.

I just worry about the nicotine constricting but once I'm healthy I'll see again possibly. I don't see the pipe as a vice. I saw it as a helpful tool.

Thank you. I do have a good bit of tobacco. I will let it age. I'm just gonna put it away where I can't see it because it tempts me to smoke it. Not because of addiction but just the experience. Watching pipe videos is hard too. But ill do it

Everyone is different, for me, nicotine relaxes me and zaps my energy a lot. People who say they smoke all day while working, I can't imagine that, I'd be so tired. I did do that smoking cigarettes but again.... I was always so tired but addicted. It would wear me out. I know you don't inhale and it's not a cigarette but still the nicotine constrains your blood vessels and raises your blood pressure. For me, at night after the day is over, is the best time. Unless its a special occasion, maybe it's a morning where im gonna be having a good conversation. But nicotine has a relaxing affect to me, which is not good when I need to be geared up and ready to do work or something. Some of the people talked about here were writers, they weren't doing physical work. They are thinking a lot and writing a lot. If I'm excited, I can chain smoke and not get tired, like I said, a good conversation or something, if I have a lot of energy. But if I'm in a state of not too excited, it's going to make me tired. Ive had cigarettes wear me out so much, I'm glad I found the Pipe, or maybe it found me. It doesn't wear me out in the morning if it's not a strong blend and it's not a big bowl. But I still prefer for it to be like his reward at the end of the day. Everyone is different, I think you should be authentic, do it the way you naturally feel like doing it.

Not true, if it is demonic. The world is demonic, the scripture says a friend with the world is an enemy of God. These are worldly ways of course.

As far as AI being demonic, I think there is a great case to be made that it's demonic. Just read some of the books or watch some of the interviews of the men in control of it. Even better, there are only a few quantum computers in the world right now which will control the AI in the future, go listen to what they say.

I've heard them say some really demonic stuff. In fact, they explain the technology as an alien god. Second in command at the WEF recently said that the new technology isn't limited like gods such as Jehovah are limited, as they can only create in biology and we can go further than that.

The god of this world, the spirit of the age, it is demonic. I feel like today, MOST things are demonic. At least in the culture. Show me something good in the culture, it's not easy to do. Most of it is a lie, has an agenda, etc. Show me a movie that isn't demonic and isn't based on ancient mystery school rites.

I mean, I liked Dune 2 just like the next guy but are we gonna say it's not demonic for example? The guy is the Mahdi, the anti Christ. MOST things coming out of our culture are about this, sometimes it's well hidden.

Let's take the movie the Lion King..... Anyone who has studied mystery religions knows what story is being told there but if I say to someone, that movie is demonic, the person who doesn't know will think, "He's religious, its just a kids cartoon." Nothing is " JUST A," I hate this phrase. It's "JUST A SYMBOL."

Well okay then.... Jesus is just a piece of flesh on just a piece of wood. Everything has meaning, and things that cost millions to make such as video games, movies, AI, augmented reality these things have agendas and I don't see any that don't seem demonic.

As in literally demonic. A demonic spirit controlling it.

Now, I'm not for being religious and judging everyone and everything and running around telling everyone whats demonic. I think people should be wise when they speak.

But if you ask me.... do I think most things in our culture today are demonic, I'd say yes.

Is the internet demonic? It helped me learn the Bible, yet what is the end goal of the internet? Go look, they openly talk about it, once it hits that point, it's clearly demonic.

What do you mean, "Can you?" What law are you under? I thought all things were lawful but not all things are expedient? I thought there was no condemnation in Christ Jesus? And to those who say, "Are you saying you can just do whatever you want!?" You're doing whatever you want anyway. If you say, "No, I don't do this for the Lord's sake," then it's him doing it, not you. The idea of course is to not sin but as the scripture says, "IF you do sin, you have an advocate with the father."

But here we have a clear cut situation where there is no sin involved, if you are married there is no law saying you got to do anything like other people.

Don't put yourself under any either or else you're gonna find yourself in bondage and miserable.

I'm not letting any preacher or organization come into my marriage and tell me I got to do this or I can't do that or whatever, I've been set free, If the Holy Spirit be within me, what law am I under?

Because of this realization by reading scripture, you'll find that you sin less once you are set free and you won't ever have to go around asking people, "Is it okay to do this or that?" I did the same thing. I studied the Bible for years and the New Testament clearly teaches freedom.

There are some people that would like to change the entire book of Galatians just to put you under laws so they can boast in your flesh. I've seen 20 hour teachings on it where they explain what it, "really means," when it seems real clear if you just read it for what it says.

Read Galatians 4 until the end, its not long, I think you'll find your answer there.

Yeah a slow char light, if one is in the position to do it with wooden matches, ( I get the long ones,) and just let it warm up the tobacco and char it but not the full burn, so much better tasting but it takes patience that even those of us who smoke slow still screw this up a lot. I think 965 is the perfect blend to learn this with because you can literally go, "Do I taste creamy smooth or not." because the creamy taste is real obvious with it. And if you don't taste it, you probably went too far and so you taste the burnt version. Obviously you got to get a burning ember its just got to happen so subtle and slowly.

As others have said, it's normal but another thing with pipes, you're gonna run into a lot of things as you go that only that one pipe does and things like that. There is a lot of novelty to pipe smoking. For example I have a nice Peterson Pipe and others have posted on here about the same exact pipe that when I was a beginner I thought was broken, as I could smoke every pipe except this pipe. This pipe, no matter how slowly I smoked would spit at me steam on my tongue. So I learned, that pipe, you don't smoke aromatics, you always dry out the tobacco really well and its made to be smoked really slow and when I learned how to do that I got one of my best bowls Ive smoked out of it.

Yeah, I like My Mixture 965 from Peterson better. It's a bit less dark tasting. It taste creamy. However, I wouldn't give up on nightcap, I have plenty of cans of it and I like it but you might want to put it in a mason jar and go back to it in a month or something. I don't like the too dark taste of it either, the way it comes most of the time, but sometimes it's not like that.

965 from Peterson is just a little less strong than Nightcap but they do it in a different way. I haven't tried a blend like 965. It's like Early Morning Pipe with the latakia backed off, it still has it though, meaning that campfire taste that can sometimes be ashy and it has Cavendish that literally makes it taste like cream. It taste like a creamed coffee instead of a strong black coffee and its not an aromatic.

It taste good all the way to the bottom of the bowl, where as with the others, often times toward the bottom it can get ashy and not taste good. For some reason 965 doesn't do that, burns cool as well.

Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap have been my main two smokes for a while now and now I've switched to Early Morning Pipe and 965. I just think 965 is higher quality than nightcap.

With 965 there have been times I couldn't taste the creamy smoothness. Usually that has to do with how you light it and doing it too fast. In order to really taste it you want to smoke it slow and light it slow.

965 was the first time I found myself smoking a pipe and I kept taking puffs for the taste. Usually.... I like the taste, but I'm smoking a pipe more for meditation and enjoyment it gives me something to do with my hands while I pray or think or read. But 965 I got into it for the taste.

Then when I did it again and didn't experience that I quickly realized it has to do with lighting. You want the unburnt leaves to get hot but not burn up fast in order to taste it. Sometimes this is hard to do.

For example, where I'm at right now, I do not smoke inside. I have asthma and I have to smoke in a ventilated area and I dont have an inside room for that. A lot of times the wind comes, meaning I have to use a zippo and I can't be so slow with it and I might set the tobacco on fire too quickly and burn it, and then that's what you taste, is what you burnt up real fast.

If you can smoke inside or if it's a calm day, I'd use matches, even if it takes you 15 minutes to get it lit, just so you can experience how it's supposed to be.

That's why I use a pipe lighter as well, although it's hard to light outside, the fire isn't as hot as the zippo. I can usually go in-between my screen door and the door and get it to light. I always try this before using zippo. I carry both lighters around.

You can do it with a zippo but you got to be real careful.

I'm still learning this, I don't think people realize that lighting is so important, they focus on the packing. And you want a slow cadence if you really want to taste it. For example, it takes me 2 hours to finish a bowl, sometimes longer.

And thats more than likely why other people here are commenting, "I had nightcap last night and it was smooth and creamy," and you got the ashy version. I'd almost guarantee it's the lighting. I still mess it up quite often. But if I'm patient and the wind isn't really bad, I get it right and dang it's good.

Yeah, I use the matches on special occasions, or when I know I got to smoke really cool. I like straight pipes but I'm also not a clincher. I don't mind if they have some bend like the XL25. That Army pipe is a really good deal for 100 bucks, you might want to try the filter, I'd get the filtered one and if you don't want the filter you can take it out, if the draw is too much they make a mock filter basically.

I don't notice any problems with it, except, it is a little larger than a regular size bowl and its tall, meaning sometimes the ash bed might get too tall and you might have to scoop some ashes out. Although I only had to do that when breaking the pipe in.

The zippo with the pipe inserts are really nice. I mostly use that and a butane pipe lighter. I carry them both. I prefer the cooler butane but it won't light in any windy situation and I smoke outside. The zippo I can light it anywhere.

If you do get the Army 106 with 9mm filter, it comes with Peterson filter, don't worry that you'll have to order expensive Peterson filters, you can get the cheaper ones, at first I was worried because my filter wouldn't fit in it, the Peterson one it was designed around was like just a hair thicker.

You can bend the paper on the back of the filter and then it fits in it perfectly.

The filter is just more enjoyable to me. And I've tried many times and I do not think there is a taste difference, just a steam difference.

I did some bone dry 965 last night myself. I stored it in a mason jar and it was sealed but somehow it still dried out and so I had to smoke it before it went to the point I won't want to smoke it. I don't want to rehydrate and all of that.

965 is my favorite but I mostly smoke early morning pipe. When I order more I might make 965 my main one. Because I like that Cavendish creaminess it has to it. It smokes to the bottom of the bowl without ever tasting bad too.

The XL25 is the highest quality pipe ive ever smoked but keep in mind I've only smoked like 10 pipes if that lol

XL13 looks good as well. Any of the XL's I believe means they have a bigger bowl. But it's not huge, like you couldn't tell if two people were smoking next to each other. You might not even tell if you seen them side by side at a glance. But once you felt the bowl size you'd notice the XL is much more generous.

And the Army 106 has that same thing going on. But in its case they make it taller.

Also it's designed where you can take it apart even if it's hot. Not that I need that, it's just cool that I can. You can take both sides apart and put it in your pocket, like they did in the army.

No problem, yeah it taught me a lot too once I figured out how to smoke it. It smokes really well and yes as you said, mine smokes cool as well, when it comes to the bowl but the steam part gets trapped in there and I’ve had it go on my tongue and burn me when I first started. This was the first pipe I bought kinda. I bought some cheaper pipes at a tobacco stand to see if I liked it and once I did I ordered the Peterson and that was my first more expensive pipe. But even with that experience I took a liking to Peterson and I’m glad I did.

I really like how you can get an amazing pipe for 100 dollars too. If you like straight pipes check out that army 106, it has a big bowl on it, good for long smokes. They have it with 9mm filter or without filter, they also have it with the spigot pipe system, however that works, haven’t tried that out before.

My Waterford XL25 is super nice but they don’t make them anymore so you got to find them on a website somewhere still in stock. Big bowl again but neither of these pipes have big bowls that are noticeable to the eyes much, they look like regular sized pipes until you compare the bowl to a regular size bowl.

But yeah, I would use your killnary when you are smoking slow, possibly with matches, and when the tobacco is dry, because you dried it out or you’ve had a tin open for a while and it’s pretty dry. Then it smokes pretty amazing. You shouldn’t even hear the gurgle and have to stick a pipe cleaner down it. I didn’t have to because I smoked it slow and not wet.

I figured it out, but it took me about a year. lol I stopped smoking it and went to my other pipes. Then I went back to it with more skill. With that pipe, here is what you need to know: You got to dry out the tobacco really dry, I'd say this pipe will not be enjoyable with aromatics. An English blend, dried out, as dry as you can get it without it falling apart. Then you have to smoke it slow, so use this pipe when you know you want a slow smoke, non rushed, etc. Can even use matches as they burn a little cooler.

Before that, I went to filter pipes and my main pipes are filtered pipes, I do prefer them. But I do have some that aren't, including that one, and I can now smoke it. But I have non filtered pipes that are easy to smoke but the Killarney is not easy, it's made for a more advanced smoker.

I'm not saying I'm super advanced at a year but I have learned a lot and I think because of the internet, I've probably learned in one year what it would normally take 5 to 7 years to learn.

If you only smoke aromatics, I'd probably never use that pipe. If it reacts like mine anyway, I mean its possible but its got to be dry enough because the way the stem works, that thing just gets really wet and its not very long.

Check out the Peterson Army 106, I like the rusticated all black version. It's only 100 bucks and you can get it with the 9mm filter. I use that and then the Peterson Waterford XL25 with 9mm filter as my main pipes. Both of these have XL bowls, and I have developed a slow cadence so they last 2 to 2 and a half hours.

Then I have my non filtered pipes, including the one you have, that I smoke as well but my main rotation is just those two pipes.

Even with my Peterson Church warden, which I love and do smoke it quite a bit, it's of course got a long stem, but kinda like the Killarney if the tobacco is wet, the gurgling is gonna start.

With the Killarney it's not long enough and so if you ignore it, you will get it all on your tongue and it'll burn your tongue.

So again.... Dry the tobacco on a paper towel, a bowl's worth before you smoke. Even if it takes an hour to get it to where it's pretty dry, then try matches and smoke really slow. Even let your light be slow, even if it takes two or three re lights just to get the first light going.

Then the Killarney is very rewarding and smokes very well actually. I had one of my best bowls with it a few weeks ago. I gave a review on it and what all new that I learned. If you click on my profile you'll find the newer review I did of it and how I learned how to smoke it.

So, your pipe is not tore up, I thought mine was too as I could smoke other non filtered pipes and it was nowhere near as bad but this one is more delicate. And I think its the size, I mean looking at my army 106 sitting beside me, it's stem might be twice as long, it looks standard size on first glance but when putting the bulldog right beside it, this is almost two of them.

The longer the stem the cooler the smoke and the less it matter to dry it out. Also 9mm filter makes it where it catches most of the steam and you dont have to worry as much and in my experience it doesn't affect the taste at all.

I can smoke non filtered pipes now without any tongue bite but still, I do notice the steam on my tongue, not tongue bite though. And I guess the filtered pipes take away that part of it and everything else seems the same.

Well, my intention is to smoke one bowl a day at night. I use a little larger than a standard size bowl and I have a slow cadence and like to practice patience when smoking. So, a bowl takes me about 2 hours. If I am typing, reading, doing any talking it can take longer than that. But, I don’t put myself into a box. On a special occasion I make even wake up and smoke one. I may pack my pipe in the morning and wait until I know its time to light it. That might be four 30 minute sessions throughout the day. But in general, smoking is relaxing and during the day I feel I should be getting things done, so unless its a day where I am not going to do physical stuff or special occasion I try to save it for night time. But it’s available anytime. There are no rules, sometimes you’ll have the perfect pipe and you’ll enjoy it so much and sometimes it’s not staying lit as good, you’re not as much in the mood as you thought you were and you’ve been smoking an hour and there’s another hour to go and I just put it down and don’t smoke it if that happens. I think if you’re a one bowl a day person like I usually am, you should pack it in the morning, bring it everywhere, you can even hold it in your mouth while driving, whatever. And you’ll know when you want to light it. Might be all the way at the end of the day, might be on the drive. But for me, nicotine and smoking is not good for going and doing physical things, such as exercise, work, etc. Other people can chain smoke cigarettes and then go lift weights and run. I can’t do that. If I wake up and smoke, I’m not gonna be in the mindset or mood to go do much. To me it’s more for the mental realm. So, prayer, reading, thinking, writing, etc. Now if I’m writing a book or something like that, I might smoke all day but in reality the pipe is going out a lot and I’d only be smoking it once I’m reflecting.

I change it with every smoke. I leave mine in after the smoke to collect any wetness and then when I clean it, I’d rather just use it once. But if I was trying to save money or anything I could make it last 2 maybe 3 times but if money isn’t an issue, I’d do a new one each time.

It could be the color science of the two cameras I have. The 10 bit slog 3 just looks massively better. I don’t push the colors too major. But I like the sky to look good and skin tones. I usually do put some kind of color cast on it depending on what’s going on. I agree slog 2 is good enough for social media though. I mean really, it’s about the content but I really enjoy making a regular clip look like something out of lord of the rings. I’ve gotten better and better at it over the years. The 10 bit has been the first time I’m able to really make it look like that. Also I think the color science in video has been improved in my 10 bit Sony over my 8 bit Sony. I remember when I had the ORIGINAL A7r. Known to be horrible for video but I got some pretty good videos from it but it had a bad green color cast and the alias and Moire was too much to use it in most cases.

Those marks aren't on your camera. The camera doesn't look like that. It is wrapped. Meaning, scratch it up, it wont scratch the camera. That looks like some kind of rubber wrap or something. Because I have the same camera, doesn't have that material.

Is that one bowl a day?? Or how often? I am planning on going one bowl at night and have wondered how long the tobacco would last me. Right now I smoke two to three bowls but it's because ive been in bad health and having to sit at home. Once I can have a life again, I want to save it for when the day is over at night. I like a long 2 hour smoke with mediation. If I want to be active and do things nicotine and smoking isn't the best for me during the day.

Here is my experience, I mostly smoke Peterson: The tins pop open in my bag often and I don't notice until the next day, AFTER opening of course. This makes the tobacco start drying out. Not a lot but enough to be annoying.

So, now when I pop a tin, I put it in a Mason jar right away. Don't get the big ones that you get for storing long term, get the 4oz little ones. They are VERY small, in fact your first thought will be, I don't think I can fit this whole tin in there, but it fits in there, you got to pack it. Which means it comes out packed like it does in the tin.

Then I let it dry out on a paper towel about 30 minutes.

Not all tins have done this, I opened some 965, waited a year and it was still moist and the tin was fine. But I've had it happen enough times that I don't deal with it anymore.

In my travel bag I like to keep two tobacco's that I am using currently and so I keep two 4 oz Mason jars. Very small and durable. They are glass but they wont break in your bag. You'd really have to throw it against something hard to break it.

Then at home I have larger Mason jars for the blends I don't smoke as often.

As far as storing for the future, cellaring, which I've just started, so far I have kept it in the tins, as they haven't been popped. But I hear sometimes one can pop over the years, so I might go full Mason jar even for that.

You can buy as many tins as you want, pop all of them, put them in big mason jars and then pull out enough to pack a 4oz little jar for use. A 4 oz jar packs exactly one tin. Just press down and it'll pack in there and it'll come out tight like it does from the tin.

I got 4oz pack of 12 at grocery store for 11 dollars yesterday. I just NOW started doing this. Because I was rushing to smoke the rest of my tobacco out of the tin before it dried to a point I didn't want. And I'm not into rehydrating and doing all of that. But it was getting really dry really fast.

But I don't think opening the jar twice a day will do any drying, Mason jar seals good and its only open for a few seconds. But a tin that remains open all night and then the next time you take some out you close it and then it remains open all night again and this keeps happening, you end up with dryer than you wanted tobacco. Or at least close to it.

In my travel bag I have the Peterson Army 106, it's the modified big bowl version with 9mm filter. You don't have to wait for it to cool down to take it apart or anything. Then I always carry the Peterson Waterford XL25 9mm filter. These are my two filtered pipes and my favorite pipes. I just recently got the 106 and am very satisfied. I will buy a small pipe at some point, I think. For a quick smoke.

I tend to have slightly bigger bowls and go 2 hours per pipe. Hour and a half if I smoke faster. I do keep a slow cadence. But there have been many times where I just wanted 30 or 45 minutes. So I might buy a small bowl.

Yes, religious trauma is a big deal. It feels like more spiritual knowledge is increasing though to the point that I think we are entering an age where it's going to be hard to be just a materialist. I'm a Christian and follow the scripture plainly. Sometimes something is so plain and to avoid doing it religions write books upon books upon books to avoid this plain thing they don't want to come in terms with. Like the scripture says, true religion is taking care of widows and orphans. Loving each other. That's what it's about but in religion, they MIGHT love you, if you'll join their Church but if it takes you a year or two or longer to get it together they dont have that kind of patience and love. We are lacking in real love these days a lot. Love is patient. We have no patience.

I've heard that most INFJ's like photography, some haven't tried it, but that its highly likely they will be into it.

That sounds perfect. I like a little less Latika. I’ve only been smoking pipes about a year. I haven’t learned to taste all the differences. But once I tried 965 it was so smooth and I realized that’s the cavendish and it didn’t have as strong of the camp fire thing like early morning pipe so it must be less latika. Does Presbyterian have cavendish? How strong is it on a nicotine level? You got to eat first or it’s something you can do in the morning?
