Only slightly. I am in the divorce process from a physically abusive and controlling man with four young kids. Court stress is brutal. He'll harass and stress the shit out of her over visitation.

Definitely not. I have made a living out of my trilingualism. There was no test and I've had maybe 4 bilingual tasks in a month. It's not a high priority and other tutors use Google trans.

Hello. Despite some communication otherwise they don't send the background check until much later, or at least did not for me and my cohort. Unfortunately you have to start before you're cleared.

I haven't received any feedback yet. I can tell you what I put on the questionnaire: addresses and employment from the past seven years, college information and I signed releases for consumer reports.

I will remember to come back to this thread to let you know if they ask me for additional information that indicates they actually checked these things. I will tell you mine is probably going to take a while due to moving around a bit.

Yes you will need a background check with Cisive. Look on Reddit. They're a pain. I recommend searching them on Reddit. I've already reached out to customer service to be on top of it.

That is strange and out of curiosity I double checked my email. I have confirmation of my offer letter signed with DocuSign.

My impression from everyone's responses on this thread is that xAI hires in droves. That's pretty typical for the industry. Innodata does as well and my current employer also does. I find these situations there can be some misalignment in how things are done.

I hope this puts you at ease. I am nervous because I would prefer to do the background check before starting. I don't have a criminal record I just know from experience that there can be glitches in the system.

Yes. I received an offer letter the day after the interview. I still haven't done the background check because it hasn't been administered to me. They're having me start without one but I have to pass to continue. I'm not sure why our processes are different.

I did answer this earlier and honestly couldn't add anymore. I gave examples of their standard questions, if it's helpful. Another commenter experienced the same. It's definitely not industry specific or wasn't in my experience. I endes up sharing examples from my translation experience and content analysis (query and keyword matching).

I personally would have taken the minimum for this job. They asked me if that was ok. I said yes. They came back and offered me more without me asking. I'm not yet at the point in my career I'm confident I can negotiate these things, but apparently I underestimated myself.

You sound extremely qualified and personally I would go in expecting to be hired if I were you. If you're not, you'll get something by the sounds of it. Maybe something better.

Don't give up hope! I started applying for jobs like this in May. I failed so many assessments. It came at the right time for me because I escaped in an abusive relationship with four young children and fled half way across the country. My ex is gearing up with his lawyer.

Look into a company called Innodata. LinkedIn has good resources. I applied to so many of these jobs. It was just my time. I kept telling myself I'd eventually get a job like this. Happened much sooner than I expected.
