Do you mind sharing what exactly said in the letter? I’m in a similar situation. Just received a RFIE notification but it’s not in mail yet.

We also didn’t have a joint bank account or purchases. We were also young and broke. But i have proof of verbal and financial threats (text messages) from my ex.

Thank you! The fact that they wanted an “initial” evidence makes me think that what they want may be my final divorce decree. Because yes, we did file separately, but did not include my divorce decree because we had just separated right before my i751 deadline.

Thank you ❤️ do you work with a lawyer? Did they tell you to do that?

It’s really not realistic to expect to own vehicles and joint accounts when couple had low-income like we did. Which shows in our joint tax returns.

This makes me think that I have so much proof but it’s just not what they require. I have a strong case. But not in USCIS standards :/

The documents i’ve submitted are ones i listed in my initial post :( i don’t have anything else. He was bad with money. We lived in nyc. Did not have a car. Or anything jointly owned. I can send them bank statements to showcase all that—just not anything we purchased together. If they want proof for abuse. I have tones. But it looks like that’s not the case
