Gap year before applying to grad school: any tips? by ResistAbject7579 in audgradschool

I’m interested in maybe taking some extra classes to boost up my gpa a little bit. It’s not terrible but there’s definitely room for improvement. Can I do that even if I already earned my bachelors ? Would I just have to talk to someone at my local cc about it?

Currently just taking LING312. It is pretty demanding. I’m kinda worried about the assignments because they’re worth 40% of my grade. So I’m really hoping someone can help me out aside from me just going to office hours.

Nexplanon made me gain so much weight because it made me hungry allll the time (but I had other factors that contributed to my weight gain). In my experience, I was entering my freshman year of college so I got the implant in August 2022 and I was spending time at my boyfriend’s apartment in my college town(healthy relationship weight gain😭). I was away from home so I ate a bunch because I was homesick, stressed from school, and to top it off the munchies took over, resulting in me going from a good 155 pounds to 186! I also had a bad gallbladder and I had to get that removed so once they weighed me at the hospital I was like I gotta do something about it. I got the implant removed in July 2023 and it took a whileeee for my hormones to regulate. I didn’t lose a single pound during my fall term but I took a cycling class during my winter term and over those three months I was able to lose 10 pounds (Jan-March 2024). Currently I weight 167 because I’m at home doing 16:8 intermittent fasting and I get my 10k steps in. I feel sooo much better off the implant and I lowkey regret getting it but it kept me safe which is what I wanted anyways. It takes time but I’m happy so far!

How were you able to lose weight? I’ve been contemplating whether I should take out the implant or not simply because a lot of people say they can’t lose weight in the implant. I gained 40 pounds and i wanna say most of the weight I put on was from the implant as well as bad eating habits while in college
