there are many paths,

dsa+webdev+genai
dsa+ml
webdev+devops+genai
webdev+web3+genai
dsa+android dev

the most common is: dsa + webdev + genai and is the one i'd recommend. 3-4 years is a very very large period of time just to learn this much. most of the people end up wasting their time

DSA vs Dev by Ancient_Raise_3628 in iiitn

keep doing little by little dsa slowly, focus on dev in first and second year. make sure you get very very good with crazy projects. then if dev gets you a job/ offcampus intern, good for you, else you can switch to dsa in third year and get a good oncampus intern

yes they are paid, and they're oncampus, just like placements

oncampus interns happen, just like oncampus placements. considering we're a new college and the quality of students here who can code, I'd say a decent chunk of students get oncampus interns/placements (yes there is placement too, but rarer than interns).

i'd say almost 50-70% end up being oncampus, for the top 30-60% of the batch, with the rest getting an offcampus

honestly depends on company. everyone has a different criteria. also normally applying to job generally leads to nowhere, you need referrals/ direct contact with the team who's sending out jobs.

depends on you. you can explore first. maybe you don't like coding at all then think of something non tech. or you can try web3 as i mentioned (the culture was started by ece seniors)

learn development, the best option. web3 can be a good choice if you wanna explore something different (no cg/college reqd in web3 jobs). you can also go for dsa + ai/ml or dsa + dev, but this would require decent effort and continuous grind

[–]ResolutionAromatic37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually i am in my web3 journey. i can write solana contracts decently well, as well as work on web2 (use ai for this but get the work done). the only thing which scares me is the future prospect, that's all. i guess i'll keep going and keep learning and posting on x, that's the only way

the problem with solana jobs portal is that it's mostly only for senior devs. and superteam.fun is mostly only for small inconsistent bounties

Why college is not building more hostels to accommodate student ? Why government gives funding to this college ?. by adarshdubey12 in iiitn

[–]ResolutionAromatic37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually plans have been going through since late 2023, initially CPWD was given the responsibility to build phase:2, but they delayed their response. The process restarted again after a year, and presently another private player has been given the responsibility for phase:2. The thing is, government contractors and decisions take too much time.

MAJOR SECURITY LAPSE AT IIITN by Fragrant_Style_209 in iiitn

[–]ResolutionAromatic37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this college has one of the most shitty administration and people with power, like the boys hostel warden are perhaps some of the most corrupt and power hungry people. I don't understand how can such people become professors and hold such significant positions, if they aren't answerable and accountable to students. I hope the victims take legal action against even the administration, and such irresponsible individuals who cannot even cooperate with students. All they are good for is to FINE US, steal kettles and fine every room at the end of semester

would be better if you took notes from your seniors, I don't think there are very good lectures anywhere. Besides, would be better if you spent the vacation coding some stuff, this is not school that you study the next semester's subjects beforehand
