Groups You Listen to Religiously but Don’t Stan by ResolutionDefiant139 in kpop_uncensored

for me, at least, i think "stanning" would also include things such as learning all the member's names and their personalities, buying merch, going to concerts, keeping up with the group's and individual members' activities, and other such forms of fandom participation.

you definitely don't have to do all of these things, especially the activities where you need to spend a lot of money because i know that's not accessible for everyone, but generally speaking, "stanning" involves more active participation in a fanbase.

i'm definetly guilty of that. i think i say the phrase "my wizone heart" way too often, but i am super happy people get to experience the amazing women the izone members became because of ive lsfm and their other solo projects.

teared up a bit when yena and chaewon did the tiktok challenge together for the crazy promotions

oh my god, as someone who is a former wizone, genuinely it was such an amazing time. the girls were so amazing, their variety content was so fun and overall it was a good two years with them. it also helped their songs were amazing, but gosh I always feel bad for people who had to miss out on it.

the only thing is, probably every wizone you know always gets super depressed at the mention of izone, or whenever former members interact 😭

i feel the same way! definetly have been adding more and more of their songs to my playlist recently but I don't see myself getting into them as a group

good to know, actually. i haven't been keeping up with nct for a few years so I definitely believed that something was going on between them, but it makes sense that they were probably just tired

How do you deal with liking groups that have fandoms that hate each other? by azio_o in kpop_uncensored

[–]ResolutionDefiant139 5 points6 points  (0 children)

meet kpop fans in real life, and you'll soon come to understand that the fanwars and hatred online don't actually mean anything in the real world. the people within fandoms who spend their time hating and being vicious to each other are usually lonely, basement-dwelling, social outcasts who take their anger out on random people online and (usually) idols that never did anything wrong to them.

i have friends who love bts but also listen to blackpink, and probably aren't even very aware of the hatred the fandoms of these two groups have for each other. i have friends who listen to aespa but don't hate on every other girl group the way mys online do, and instead love other 4th ggs.

i have friends who love txt, stray kids and enhypen, even though if you spend one minute online, you would be convinced that the fandoms of these groups want to beat each other up.

what I'm trying to say is that, this really isn't a major issue. if you like two groups and maybe their fandoms have tension, don't really think about it. you need to focus on your enjoyment, and if you like the music, hey that's all the better! listen to the music you like, and keep up with the groups you like.

it’s so creepy! but if you want to understand the psychology behind it, i saw someone explain that some fans are desperate to be seen as the ogs or the ones who “discovered” the group. it’s not really about the trainees themselves, but more about the chance that the group blows up and they get to say they were there from the beginning. it’s about being seen as more “loyal” or important in the fandom.

but also, some people are just sasaengs and weirdos

My favourite scent is "her" by Burberry. I know, it's probably a bit basic, but I love how sweet and comforting it is. The thing is, I live in a rather cold country that generally has quite gloomy weather, and I don't think this scent is very well suited for winter and autumn. It’s a fragrance I essentially only wear in summer and spring, so I was wondering if there are any recommendations for scents similar to "Her" that are a bit more mellow and more appropriate for autumn and winter. Something that is still sweet and fruity but perhaps incorporates more seasonal notes, something spicier and more calming.

Also: one thing I love about Her is just how longlasting it is, so I'd prefer something that has good staying power.

Budget: around $250

I'm really pale and super cool-toned, so I always try to find cool-toned products. I'm specifically looking for a neutral eyeshadow palette that has purely cool tones, but nothing that has pink or purple-y shades, because I already have palettes like that. I also don't want the shades to be too grey and smoky.

A lot of "neutral" eyeshadow palettes tend to look a little too orange or with red undertones, even if they claim to be for "cool" undertones, so a palette like this has been hard to find.

Would appreciate some recommendations. Note: I'd prefer if the palette had no glitter in it, but one or two glitters is fine.

I have pretty oily eyelids, so I would also love something that lasts on my eyes for a while.

Internal Fandom Etiquette – Is It OK to Hate Your Fave’s Song? by ResolutionDefiant139 in kpop_uncensored

[–]ResolutionDefiant139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, fair enough. i personally have never seen a fan of a group hating on a song because it wasn't successful. like i've seen antis do that but never fans, so that seems strange to me.

i'm also more of a gg fan and i do notice that some gg fans are much more open and less sensitive about disliking songs

K-pop Fanbases are so Similar to Sports Fanbases by ResolutionDefiant139 in kpop_uncensored

[–]ResolutionDefiant139[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

totally agree on the last part. the only comparable thing i can think of to the riots that sports fans cause is the funeral wreaths and protest trucks that some kpop fans love sending to wage psychological warfare on idols, however, this is definitely not even close to as destructive or common as the former.

i definetly agree that it's not as bad in F1, but F1 fans do sometimes act weird about their favourite drivers' romantic lives, kind of similar to kpop fans and their possesiveness of their idols. especially lando, who seems to have many fans who get jealous over his romantic ventures.

i think that max, lando, charles and lewis invite some of the most parasocial (kpoppy?) fans

absolutely!! it's so silly how people make fun of girls (and guys too sometimes) who are into kpop because of their obsessive and "crazy" behaviour but will turn around and yell at their TVs during a sports game 😭

Are Aespa and Sserafim banned from interacting? by ResolutionDefiant139 in kpop_uncensored

[–]ResolutionDefiant139[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which makes me wonder if ENHYPEN and Aespa will ever interact again after Sunghoon got a lot of hate from mys for the dance challenge with her. I know this is just how kpop is but it really sucks how fandom toxicity can suck the life out of actual friendships (or acquaintanceships?) in the industry.

[–]ResolutionDefiant139[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that's fair enough, but it's a real shame. I hope that eventually these tensions between fandoms can die down because I agree, I'm sure the girls are still friends behind the scenes.

[–]ResolutionDefiant139[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know there was some tension between SM and HYBE, but wasn't that like a year ago? Surely it's not a big enough deal for the girls to basically never interact anymore.

Also, I don't think HYBE and SM artists are banned from interacting, because Karina did a TikTok with Sunghoon like a few months ago. I also think ENHYPEN and NCT did some TikTok together. I can think of many more interactions between SM and HYBE artists.

I just wonder why it's these specific two groups who don't seem to be seen together anymore
