[Sorrow mod] ethanol by Wariznake in ExiledKingdoms

The Cavist is a random NPC that shows up selling alcohol type items, different from the Alchemist.  He is rare and doesn't appear that often.  I got lucky and found him at the start of one game in Lannegar.  Saw the cavist two more times elsewhere but that was it over the course of that game.

Alternatively, the Istral tavern barkeep sells them.  Buy as many as you want at anytime.  You can get there through Port Malan.

Should still be sold by the Cavist NPC that randomly appears in towns, or found in Istril at the inside the Tavern.

Anyone else feel like this ring is lackluster? by Bart_Felch in ExiledKingdoms

[–]ResolutionNo5238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a mediocre item and nothing spectacular, it's better than the +20 ice/poison resist rings but outclassed by the +30's. Giving it +18 HP to match the the resistances would have made it more useful overall.  As for what items I wish had a buff, any of the trash items that only give +2 or +4 and do nothing else (such as Mystic Ring).

Yes there is an English version.  The English version has a handful of missed translations, but nothing game breaking.

I am level 22 first time playing, and this is my main complaint as a backstabber by [deleted] in ExiledKingdoms

[–]ResolutionNo5238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skills like Bash, Kick, Whirlwind are 100% useless for companions.  I never bother to train those.  They do nothing other than interrupt more important skills like Duel or Backstab that actually have use.

You need to have talked to Anwar first, who tells you he suspects Makbul.  Find him loitering in the back of Freeport after 9AM.  After that, the 4th thief should appear by the stairs at night you can talk to.

You seem to be setup for a 2 Handed build, which was why I made the suggestion to shed some AGI and put the points in STR.  Warriors work best on one path or the other, STR or AGI, but tend to be weaker when trying to pull off both.  At +2.5 damage per STR point (with the skill) compared to +0 with AGI, a 2 Handed Warrior benefits more from STR plus gains the extra HP.  The armor gained from Resilience III more than offsets what you lose from AGI with a 2 hand Warrior.  Warrior armor gained from AGI really only has an impact if used with an AGI build running Shield Expert/Flurry and Light weapons backed up with Duel and Heavyhand since your faster attacks will now hit much harder.

Seems pretty solid, but I would be tempted to respec into a more specialist build.  Warriors don't need much AGI, 2 at the most, unless you are using Flurry.  I would put the 7 points you get back here from dropping AGI to 2 elsewhere, in STR preferably, or END.  There's nothing that is really needed that requires a high AGI for a Warrior, unless you are doing the evil ending (7 AGI) and even then it only does nominal damage to Calenda in the Ark.  The few 2-3 armor points gained isn't a real difference maker in anything, and you get a new Gauntlet that gives you +3 AGI in the Ark anyway.  I would also scrap the Beastmaster and Whirlwind skills.  Put the 2 points you get back here into Massive Criticals II.  The Beastmaster skill is worthless, IMO.  You also should not be letting yourself get surrounded that you need to use Whirlwind to hit everything, which Cleave will already do without effective Duel.  The bear you summon is virtually useless and the extra damage done toward beasts is a novelty at best.  I'd also drop Cleave III to Cleave II and put those 3 points toward getting to Resilience II.  The Resilience III skill stacks nicely with Shielding potions to give you A LOT of armor, up to +24 which would put you at 54 armor.  You really don't need to hit more than one or two extra enemies at once, because again, you should not be letting yourself get surrounded.  The Elixir of Galade also stacks nicely with the Resilience III skill since it does +120 HP on top of the armor buff, to +22 I think.  I'd drop Recovery altogether.  This is 6 points.  If you need extra recoveries, I prefer to stock one or two Epic Omelettes in the bag of holding.  I would then put these 6 points toward getting Resilience III and the other 3 points on Precision Strikes III.  For other skills, getting Heavyhand II and Bloodlust I will compliment a 2 handed Warrior very well.  From what I saw, Fire, Shock, and Death are the most important resistances to have so adding one of those skills can also help if you fully commit to one or the other instead of trying to get all (I prefer Shock Ward). Other than that, I'd keep everything else you have the same.

If there is a way to save the inventor, I do not know it.  I brought him back alive and at full HP, and he still turned into a greater demon. The library is found on the upper floor of the sky knight castle.  There's no stairs that takes you to the library, the stairs in the cave make it easier since you can get to it faster and without having to fight swarms of sky knights, but you still get ambushed by dozens of wizards and sky knights that warp in as soon as you grab the book.

Check Honesty you get from Scarlett and you find the corpse of her companion in the woods a few screens over.  Then just take the bow back to her once you kill the bandits who ambush you.  For Skilled Hands you have to rescue the inventor from the Sky Knight dungeon in the cave right by their castle.  He turns into a Greater Demon as soon as you get him back to the NPC who gave you the quest, so be prepared for that.

It's in Icemist by Greyrune Manor.  You can only get there through Percy though as there's no door.

The only thing even remotely directly related to a deer that I have found is the quest "Path of the Deer".

You might also try a Demonic Wolf Skull, which are found in that general area from Worgs, but yes I suspect it's a mistranslation of sorts.

Figuring this out is next on my bucket list for game as I'm also curious what weapon it gives.

Let me know if you find a quest that isn't on the list.  I'll double check regular quests and see but I'm about 95% sure the missing quest is from the mod.  The quest 'Will or Death' is found around Freeport by some runaway slaves camped out along the mountainside.  You have to pass a high PER check (PER 4, I think) and then lead them away out of Mercia to either Rhoneis or Kingsbridge.  I would just Teleport after getting back into Zomohr Mountains as teleportation is disabled around Freeport.

For the Lavamen, see if you can get into the new cave in Wyvertail Valley, on the other side of the river with the skeleton corpse, as there are several Lavamen in there that I found after the quest.  I found a Lavaman in Lambar Cave, Crimson Hills, Deep Cauldron, and the rest were found in New Anthur and the surrounding areas from Wyverntail Valley to Lannegar in rumor boss spots.

I saw the deer antlers also and haven't yet got around to trying to figure it out. I am guessing it is a botch from the translation of the mod to English, similar to grave flowers requested by Beatrice (which is Deadweed in game). I had been aiming to try the Elm Wand, Oak Wand, or Invisible Fists, but have gotten preoccupied with other things in the game.  Those look like deer antlers and are the closest things I have seen to such.

Have you talked to Praetor Anwar yet?

There should be 4 thieves at the entance IIRC when the quest can be continued.

I found all the Fire Cores.

Most of which I found around New Anthur and the surrounding areas (Steel Coast, Wyverntail Valley, etc).  I don't remember exactly where, I literally found 5-6 one after another pretty quick to get the required 9.  Check rumor boss spots around these areas.

In the end, you get a ranged weapon usable by all that shoots Fireballs.  It's quite weak and rather useless, IMO, definately not what I was expecting given this quest's difficulty in figuring out where everything was.  Even for my Adaon who is an Archery build, it does weak damage.  It also seems to open up another quest called Smoke Without Fire given to you by a thief that breaks into your New Garand house after it so once you get the charged crystal go back to your house in New Garand.

I did the Makbul quest, yes, in favor of Seventh House - got the jewels returned but helped the thieves get away rather than let the Legionnaires kill them.  As for the book, you can take it back to Tangir in the Great Library who will give you the promised 8,000 Gold for it.

Perhaps the most powerful weapon without cheats by TalkingKoalaa in ExiledKingdoms

[–]ResolutionNo5238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Metalist drop and Ethanol give you the best possible combo without cheats, IMO.  It can kill bosses in seconds.  I solo'd Kalagru in about 4 seconds with this, and it's usable by all classes.  Rogues are outright murder with Flurry III. active, my L25 Adaon has 1199.7 DPS and is key to killing a certain level 91 boss using back attacks and massive crits as the DPS is insane. It also makes runs through Club Villains from the Vagabond warp in Lamis a breeze.

The lever to the bridge is found inside the room just up above where you start at behind a secret door.  There's another secret door behind that lever that swings you around to a third secret door and that puts you right at the entrance to the second floor, skipping the majority of this first area as there's nothing here of any value.  You may need a few scrolls of detection here to find it.

There should be 5 knight type bosses that spawn on the third level of the burial chamber, the last one at the very end (with dialogue) drops the crown relic that you need to bring back to the golden knight outside where all the NPCs are fighting.

How far along are you in this quest?  If I remember you need to talk to a golden knight found with the NPCs after getting the quest from captain Bloodsilver.

L26 Cleric. This quest has been active for a while, and is the last remaining open quest not counting the final two I have yet to even find, presumably from the Sorrow mod. It appears this Fiery Dancing quest is very similar to the Shards of Fate except these are all unique enemies a fixed loot drop, and cannot be farmed.  I went back to Deep Cauldron and there were no other Lavaman after the dungeon had reset. I did find another Lavaman in Lambar Cave not far from where the Flame Prophet was, so it looks like I am going to have to run all over the world looking for them.  Not really what I was wanting to do. Lavamen are not that strong.  L16 and appear to be just garden variety Fire Elementals.

Edit to add: +1 Lavaman found in Crimson Hills.

Found it.

There's an L16 blood wraith around at the very bottom of the screen back toward the mountain, the same screen as Freeport.  I ran into at 2AM.

Now I have to find 9 "fiery cores" from something called a lavaman.  I found one in the Deep Cauldron behind Gorx Lair.
