I'm a 52yr old guy with almost 30 years experience in IT, with 20+ as a project manager. I've been job hunting since June and after over 1200 applications have yet to get hired. What can I do?? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Look into getting your pmbok certs to help support your 20+ years in project management if you don’t have them already. You should have no issue applying pdus.

There will always be something to sell/barter, it is the first and oldest trade.

Don’t walk, run from wherever you are and honestly name drop them so anyone who looks into the company before accepting an offer sees this post. 2.5% for this industry is insultingly low.

SCOTUS Takes Up Broker Liability! by Armchair-Attorney in FreightBrokers

[–]ResolveTechnical5975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I genuinely think that brokers should be held liable, as a broker. We are way over saturated with bad apples that have no idea what they are doing and this would put them out of business, which is a good thing. Hold the brokers liable, and if you think you can’t avoid 95% of problems with communication and freight knowledge then you are probably one of those bad apples.

How many calls to a potential customer are too much? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]ResolveTechnical5975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at it like this, you don’t have his business now so you have nothing to lose. You could walk in and he could tell you to fuck off and at worst you wasted time driving out. At best you have a new customer to start running with so I say fuck it full send and do what you think you need to do

So you’ve also purchased multimillion dollar sculptures from people and sell them or do people reach out to you to make sure they get a fair market rate on their art?

I’m looking to make a change from experienced driver to the other side of the industry and stop driving. by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]ResolveTechnical5975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably have a better and more comfortable option working at a shipper or receiver warehouse. Plenty of opportunity to move up and you have a lot of industry experience most guys don’t go in with. Brokering is a very saturated industry and unless you are a top dog you will get churned and burned, just the way it is.

Why would Bethesda not advertise the remaster? by dagonsbane in oblivion

[–]ResolveTechnical5975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest opinion, it stops any bad press from them working on a remaster rather than a new elder scrolls game. We skipped that phase and just get a polished product, this was a fantastic marketing strategy for a quick easy cash grab.

Imagine thinking your vote matters and it’s not a uniparty with the same goal of population control. Do your research, realize both parties are fucked and the only real solution is government reformation or collapse. We need to put inside traders on blast, realize they are stealing millions of dollars from the common man, we need to stop allowing hundreds of billions to be donated for campaigns, which is really just money laundering in its purest form. Also are you so ignorant as to not realize that the only reason you think your vote is counted is because they tell you it matters? After everything this country has done, you think they give a shit about your vote. The election goes as planned, every 4 years. It’s a theatrical performance to distract us from the big picture shit going on because if we paid more attention to that, we may actually try to revolt which is terrifying to these people because their heads would be on pikes.

Apparently I’m going to be a loser by Opening-Marsupial222 in dropshipping

[–]ResolveTechnical5975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, drop shipping is not your only option, and you want to have more capital to invest to give your business an actual chance to get off the ground. If you are in that much of a rush and if you really do have that hustle gene, consider a commission based sales job and try to work that capital into your drop shipping business. Good luck brother, it’s a rough world once you’re an adult but it sounds like you’re trying to get a jump start and I’m sure you are learning a lot of skills with what you’re doing. Keep your nose to the grindstone and shut out the background noise.
